Dude, I have no problem with you sticking around, but a man's word is his word. If you come across as dishonest it's hard to erase the stigma after the fact.

You've got to stop this two faced stuff irregardless of whether you were banned or not.

I don't think anyone here has a problem with you seeking help to find a proper value for items to sell. I can only speculate (as I didn't see your other thread) that you might have been banned because the wording you used may have implied you were trying to find a buyer within that thread.

To sell an item on GJ you have to have a minimum of 100 posts in order to advertise on our classifieds forum.

Again, I doubt you'll find (too) many who have a problem helping you find a value for an item, but I believe you'll find people to be much friendlier if you actually show some forum participation instead.

my main question is why do you have them in wales, UK.

Its beyond me why snap on USA would ship these out to the UK, theres no market for them. Possibly this haul came from a snap on display in there office or was a prize.

ive never seen any of the NFL drivers for sale on ebay UK or on a snap on truck in the UK.

cool collection none the less, id only want the 49ers set but wouldn't pay over the retail of standard items. I mean the drivers are mainly standard with a raised decal.

would like to add to this comment that the only reason I have not said I sell tools is because I registered on here the other day listed a very similar post and I was banned from the site almost instantly

I still have no idea why I was banned as the reason was specified. I buy and sell tools but I purchased this set and I would like to resell it but would hold onto it for the right buyer to come along.

I am not playing anyone and i was just asking for sown advice! I re registered on here and worded the thread the way I have due to the fact I was originally banned. The reason I can only think I was banned was because I was mentioning selling this collection and had under 100 posts so was this not allowed ? I'm new to the site so I'm a little unsure

you should be banned from here as well if you ask me...yesterday you claimed you are not a tool dealer, what you gonna do today?? lie again and claim someone never sent you a payment for tool you sold him here at gj? :dunno:

Nope, right seller, same pics - this POS has been registered since 2005 as a business seller in the UK and has been regularly selling tools for the past year or so. Now I got no issues what-so-ever with anyone buying and selling/flipping tools, or with anyone selling tools asking for any thoughts on value, particularly oddball/rare/limited edition stuff. Just be honest and upfront about what you're doing!! It's this SOB's faking and outright lies he/she/it has spewed here trying to play members. Registers this morning, starts this thread right off, posts a couple short meaningless replies to a couple other threads to fake being an interested contributor, then lists the "collection" on ebay without a word here - "I have possibly made the decision to pass them on..." was posted here AFTER the ebay listing apparently started (if I've got my time zones straight...)

Most likely not an "Amy" either - just playing a naive-sounding young woman to gain sympathy and additional interest from gullible auto and tool crazy guys....:rocketwho

you were right Sir! 100 % agreed with everything you have said in this post,Amen!

No reason was given for the ban so I tried to think of a way of finding a value without being banned again. Lots of angry people here over me generally just trying to find out if this set is worth money or not. I purchased the set of a collector who was having money problems. I don't have a huge interest in them hence why I am selling them back on. And when I say I biy and sell tools I just keep myself busy in the evenings I'm purely registers on ebay as a business because I had to be.

No need for everyone to get so angry the fact that the collection is available and wanting a valuation remind the same regardless of the seller offering them that doesn't seem to change the value.

Thank you for decent replies and for the comments regarding my membership but I am a new member who is not sure how the forum worked and did not offer them for sale in my first thread so I still question why I was banned. Anyway these are on eBay the auction will run and if it does not go through I will sell them individually so if any of you don't hate me to much seeking some help in valuing an item I bought then let me know if interested in any particular ratchet/wrench

Thanks
Aaron

I think he is legit, you guys forget how it is first time on a forum and you kind of skipped reading the rules and you get insta-banned!

rees1312 - there are a few hot-heads in here, and several young and immature and a few older and insecure, but there are also some extremely intelligent folks on here, just ignore the haters and anger-management folks, it's worth hanging around for some of the fantastic members here! - good luck with the ebay sale, the set is certainly rare, only a few of those teams have shown up on ebay this year, I checked.

I have searched and searched for the items but being in the uk it's hard to find the info hence joining here. I bought them because I liked threm more so than thinking I could make some money of them. Obviously I hope I do but if it doesn't fetvh what I think thier worth which is £4000 due to the individual value complete set for the years and rareness of them then I will sit on them until I can find a buyer they were not cheep to buy

cheers for that mate. honeslty meant no harm by opening anew account - i could see that you had to have 100 posts as i initially went to post in the classifieds section and in my first thread i just asked for valuation etc so again im baffled as to why i was banned it gave no reason just that it would never be lifted. bit heavy if you ask me but maybe an administrator was jealous of the collection :)

i get upset with keyboard warriors.

Rees--or Aaron..
Whatever--mind telling us your background?? As I can see -- you've still not yet provided an "introduction" on this site aside from your defenses to the bashing you've taken on here..
Your sales on Ebay are all Blue-Point/Snap-on.. Are you a dealer or what??

Nope, still calling total BS on this Amy/Aaron/whatever poser. Has nothing to do with insecurity, immaturity, hot-headedness, or hating - look at the time-line and wording of posts and the ebay listing and use your head, the story is **** and is still changing to regain sympathy.

Don't know why one was banned, then ask first. AFAIK, banning usually doesn't happen for a simple mistake or error or misunderstanding. Could be one has a past history of spamming, scamming, lying, etc that one conveniently forgot. It's also against forum policy to re-join under another name or IP address after being banned, so this poser's credibility and trustworthyness is just falling farther and farther into the crapper.

Ultimately it's up to the mods to decide. I'm a mostly laid-back and friendly sort happy to just let people be - this poser just stinks to high heaven and I'm sick of the stench. :monkey_po

He starts multiple threads asking for opinions on the worth of the set , gets banned, signs up under another account name, calls himself Amy, plays dumb on why he was banned, calls himself by another name and then rallies for us to understand his reasoning.. And still insists he's innocently looking for a value on the set. Whilst all this was happening he lists (pretty sure re-lists as I'm positive I've seen that listing before) the set and mentions nothing about it. Auction looks like a no reserve auction yet he says if he doesn't get £4000 for it(probably not gonna happen, that's ~$100 per piece) he'll end it early. Why not be honest and set the reserve at £4000 instead of wasting bidders' time and pulling it at the last minute? Sure you say in your listing that it's for sale locally and will pull the auction if it sells but even that's not honest. It's simply to cover yourself if the market doesn't give you enough money.
You wonder why you're being questioned yet nothing you've said or done has been upfront nor honest. i don't usually speak up about many of the shenanigans that go on here but this ones becoming kinda silly.

While there is a lot to be said for 'sets' of almost anything...I am a Patriots fan and would not tolerate having any other NFL team logo anywhere in my house, not to mention 29 others.

The only exception to this is allowing friends over wearing their favorite teams logos.

Well guys to be fair your absolutely rinsing me here. Don't even knownwhatbto say my reasonig above is all correct and true. I have listed them on eBay with a no reserve as it was going to be £160 with a reserve just to list and with my current outlay and not 100% on their value I didn't want to outlay any more.

I have no reasoning for the ban as it seems I was only active for about an hour and I can't access the account. If you guys want to ban me then carry on.

But as for the scamming etc comments sorry mate but if your that interested in my business please check my ebay account I'm far from a spammer scammer or whatever. Yes I buy and sell tools mainly to get a holiday for me and the write each year on top of the 9-5 day job. Hobby mainly and make a bit of money in the process

I have no explanation for the name of amy being used just went with the flow on trying to gain a quick valuation on the set I had just purchased. I'm not worried about having it for a while if it doesn't sell neither am I worried about the money invested if I hae to sit on this collection for a while then I will.

So just for the record

My name is aaron davies
24 years old
From South Wales in UK
Work for the local authority
Small self employment business selling tools on eBay
Have two kids and a wife
I have a very nice collection of ratchets and spanners which I listed on eBay a few hours after receiving them. The reason for not saying I had them listed is due to this 100posr rule and I think I must having implied this on my first post on my other name. So did not want to have any more issues. It may look like I'm a price but really it's just a collection iv bought and was asking for a valuation

Carry on hating me if you must but I would like to stay and would like to get info and give info or possibly items on this forum

Its like baseball cards in a way. The valuable ones are the ones that were just ordinary cards for a player who went on to be great when originally issued so very few still exist. When an item is issued as a collectable from the outset, 99% stay unused in the box and the value will never really skyrocket, especially with the internet making it easier to get a picture of the rarity and recent sale prices. I'm predicting it will get no higher than $3500 US and then he'll pull the auction. It could probably be parted out on Ebay for a little more than that but it would take 100 hours of work to do so.

On the other hand, NFL popularity is raging across the pond so I could be surprised.

Dude, enough already about the ban.... it's over... you're here now, stop trying to make it a big drama.

if you are a snap on tool seller shouldnt you know the value? i think you posted here asking about the value as a way of indirectly making a for sale thread for everyone to see.

thats just my take.
if you made a mistake, learn from it and move on.

I sell snap in tools ye but mainly hand tools that are used daily or new items. This is a collection of limited edition set which I have not dealt with in the past and purvhased them because I liked them and thought there may be a profit in it. I know o can sell them individually and get a value but I was curious as to having two full sets of that in fact increases their value?

Apart from the not stating they were already for sale - for that very reason you just mentioned of not directly making a for sale thread. And making up a bogus account and name and story I haven't lied about anything else

I literally just wanted opinions isn't heir value that's all and noticed a lot of members on here are American and being nfl items I have in at the moment I gused it could be good for info

There was no Cleveland Browns in '96 or '97 when these were made. Browns came back for '99 season.

all of the wrenches are the same size, anyone know what size?

I had not idea when they were made. I'm not sure if I was more sad when we didn't have a team or now that Johnny, ahem, football is supposed to be our savior.

current high "bidder" Has bid on 5 things in the last 30 days, all with same seller and has zero feedback in last year, selling or buying. You can draw your own conclusion

Mate seriously grow up we both know what you just stated there is a load of rubbish I have no idea who the winning bidder is and has not bid on any of my items before nor have I sold an item to them either...

I get slated for rubbish lies well ditto for you my friend.

P.s if you have a special account that lets you see what the person has bidded on in the past month or so then please share this because I would be very grateful of this information.

The fact that the winning bidder has not purchased anything in the past twelve months has no clout behind the statement at all. You don't have to be an ebay warrior to bid

Pointless and useless comments mate

Aaron - just understand that no group of 98% men is going to be composed of 100% great guys, there are going to be some asshats and insecure haters in every crowd and often they are the most vocal. - I just ignore the dipshits and focus on the intelligent and helpful portion of Garage Journal.

Back when this forum was founded, I was on here and it was a very different place, everyone was nice and just helping each other with tool and garage related questions, but as on any internet forum, eventually the dickheads find it and try to ruin it.

So just learn to ignore the angry and insecure folks, they are, unfortunately everywhere in life, not just here, so it helps to get a thick skin early and ignore all of noise and just pick out the diamonds from the gravel.

Also certain threads seem to bring out the worst folks, because some people do not want to be reminded that they vastly overpaid for their tools or tool boxes, whereas in other threads like vises or bench grinders, everyone is pretty much cool!
