Snap On Tool start up inventory

Hi, I'm about to start up a Snap-On retail Store.
i am wondering if anyone has a start up Inventory listing, there are so many tools.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would think you would get that info from Snap-On corporate.

You only have so much space so get the most common items such as ratchets, sockets, extension, etc

I wouldnt buy any specialty tools

Retail store front you mean?? I have never seen a retail store from Snap-On. In fact never heard of one. Interesting, I always thought you had to purchase from the mobile trucks or on-line. I would also like to mention if you are starting a business and need help here (on the forum) with inventory, you are in big trouble. It simply means you didn't do your homework. I am not pointing this out to be rude either. Good Luck!

Smells like a spammer collecting email addresses to me. We have guys here who are Snap On dealers. Is there even such a thing as a retail store ? If so wouldn't Snap On have a list of popular items or even a basic startup inventory "kit" ?

Nothing on the Snap-On website about a "brick-and-mortar" store. Everything points to franchises that are mobile (trucks) or ordering from the company website.

I do think KHartless is a spammer but I worked with one guy in NJ that claimed that AT ONE TIME Snap on did have a place in Fairfield (?) NJ where you could walk in buy tools and exhange broken ones for new ones. He said Snap on closed the place down due to lack of business. Is it true??? Who knows...

Yes they had depot type locations. There was one here on the island as well. It was more so for dealers to pick up orders and such but they did allow walk in traffic.

Start up a franchise costing thousands of dollars. Then get your initial business decisions off of an internet forum. And don't post your replies, email them. Right.

There was one in Buffalo back in the early 1990's. I went in to exchange a 1/2 combo and buy a set of impact sockets. It was definately more of a depot/ distribution center than retail storefront.

They had some in the Detroit area too. Mostly corporate offices with a attached store that you could also buy from. Worked great when we needed a production tool in a pinch.

I just picked up a couple of snapon catalogs in the 40s/50s and on the cover it says:

The older one I have has the same address but a different phone number, it was MADison something something something.

I remember reading somewhere a couple years ago (I believe it was either in "Hemmings Classic car" or one of the handyman-type mags i get) that Snap-On was opening retail locations in select territories. This is from memory, but it was probably '09 or '10...?

snap on gives you a basic setup when you get the truck. all trucks start with the same basic items and then grow from there depending on the needs of customers on there route. i just got a new driver yesterday and he was new to snapon. he said they give everyone the same tools on start up there is no picking what you start with.

There was a pretty large store here in abq about 15 years ago. They had tool boxes galore, special editions, matching paint battery chargers, and tools like crazy. I remember seeing the trucks there also. Must have stopped to stock up. I don't remember it lasting very long. Maybe 2-3 years or so. It was on Menaul near Carlisle.
