Snap On Tool Warranty Questions

I contacted Snap On about some warranty on tools I bought way back from a dealer. They were most kind and promptly sent me some UPS return and pickup labels.

I'm just wondering, and did not think to ask them, if they replace your item do you get back exactly what you sent them for repair of replacement, or do they send you a newer model?

I.e., a rusted socket I have is an FSM131, will that be the same socket I get back?

And some of my ratchets, SN18A, SL715, F720, ETC.?

I guess what I'm asking is this: I'll no longer have matching sets of wrenches, sockets, tools?

Thanks for help on this stupid question!

Ive never mailed anything in, ive always handeled through the truck so im not quiet sure, but you should receive the latest and the greatest model of everything. If they they no longer make a rebuild kit for your ratchet then they will send you a brand new ratchet such as a dual 80 series. Maybe somebody will chime in later with more help

If they had you send it in, you are correct, you will no longer have matching sets. Do you really care?

I had a ratchet in an old SAE service set replaced with an F80, which doesn't quite fit in the blow molded case.

When it comes to screwdrivers, I much prefer to just replace the blade.
