Hi, this is my first post. I've been searching Craig's List for used Snap-On toolboxes. I'm having a hard time understanding the differences between the different series. Here's what I've gleened so far.

KRL is Top Of the Line
KRA seems to come in second
The Classic series seem to be KRAs
Blue Point seems to be the lower end?

Where does the EPIQ series come in?

The Classic series are numbered, i.e.: 60, 76, 96 and that seems to equal the length of the box

KRL's and KRA's have numbers like 1001, 2422, 1056, 1022, etc.

Then sometimes there are letters after numbers, like: PUS, PDG, PCM, etc.

I googled for a key to the snap-on code but got nothing useful back. Does anyone here have a clue about this? Or can you point me to somewhere to ge tthe info? Thanks in advance.

epiq is above KRL
yeah the number after the classic is the legnth
the numbering has to do with size and drawer layout
im not 100% sure on the lettering but i know one of the letters is just the color of the box

KRL and Epiq are top of the line, with slightly different features. The Epiq line is the newer release, and typically will cost a little more as they are larger than KRL boxes.

KRA and Classic are the same construction. Snap-on's mid-tier boxes.

Blue Point is made overseas, Snap-on's budget entry into the market.f

KRL, Epiq, and KRA boxes all use numbering systems, but they aren't simple to interpret. For example, a KRL722 is a double bank KRL, maybe the most common. A KRL1022 is larger than a 722, but a KRL756 is smaller than both.

You'll get used to identifying them by model numbers as you see more of them.

The two or three letters after all the numbers is the color code. PC=black, PCM=blue. It can also be the color and trim combination as well.
