Picked up a used Snap-on 26" top and bottom box off FB Marketplace last week.f2ce195fc6cde38489963d5ce44e8d99.jpg
I was lucky in that I just sat down at work to eat my lunch and saw this within minutes of it being listed. Seller messaged right back so needless to say I ate quickly and then left immediately to go pick it up.

It cleaned up really nicely. KRA2055 top & KRA2007 bottom, all ball bearing and the bottom has lock n' roll drawer releases like my big SO toolbox.

The best part of this was I had been hard contemplating going down and buying a yellow 26" U.S. General lower cabinet to match my yellow KRL. The plan was for it to be just for storing and organizing drill bits, saw blades, hardware, nuts & bolts, abrasives, consumables and other stuff that was clogging up 2 drawers in my toolbox as well as my cart and wall cabinet. Organizing all that stuff in this box has really helped free up some much needed room, plus I already had all of the Akro bins and plastic organizers that ultimately fit so well in this toolbox.

Yep...you certainly ****. I would have paid that much for either the top or the bottom. Getting both for that price earns you a big “you ****”.

BTW, you risked it by finishing your lunch before driving over there. :3gears:

Wow thanks for all the accolades!

Just like used cars, everything always looks better in the pics. It's in good condition though with a fair amount of normal wear and tear as expected for what I assume is probably a 15-25 year old box.

As far as the seller goes, he was just trying to free up some garage space. He is a semi retired A&P mechanic who was moving from CA to his second home in AZ so the combining of the two houses left one bay in his garage full of extra furniture and stuff like this. Around the corner behind the big boat in the RV bay he had a triple bank KRL and a top and bottom double bank heritage series. For him it really wasn't about the money. It's nice to know though that if I ever go a different route I could probably price it @ $400 and get just as quick of a sale.

That sounds like a good connection for the future. If he’s already semi retired he might be off loading more stuff in the near future. Even after he basically GAVE you his smaller toolbox pair, he has more capacity in the 2 other boxes you described than most full time mechanics.

Maybe he need a nicely restored bench vise???
I bet you offered him one or not?

Nice Score! In the Chicago area, someone would be asking $2000 for a box like that.
Snap-on still sells this same combo. List for the bottom is $1325 and the top is $895 and of course no one should ever be paying full list on a toolbox from Snap-on.

Even with that being said, you're probably still right that there are people out there who would list this @ $2000 thinking they struck gold because it has a couple plastic Snap-on badges.

Shift,

Nope, didn't offer one up but you know I asked if he had any to sell!

Very, very nice score!

However if we were friends on FB, I'd be obligated to unfriend you.
