hey all im new here so if im not in the right spot let me know http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

was wondering what you guys have hung on the side of snap on toolboxes for a side locker as i dont want to shell out $3500http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/images/smilies/eyecrazy.gif for a new one (i have a krl 1022)
just looking around i see brands like montezuma and extreme tools make a decent looking locker for around 500-1000. i know the depth wont be right but will it still hang on the side?

I bought this from Zoro with a 20% off coupon and so far it has been working out well for my needs. I figured it was a better option then spending the 3500$.

I had an International locker (15"wx18"deep) previous to this. It would hang off the side fine with the hanger it came with. I did have to add a 1/8 flat bar spacer between the locker and hanger for my KR1000 however.

What do you mean by a spacer did it not sit flush with the box?

I added a spacer between the locker itself and the hanger bracket that the locker uses to hang off the side of the toolbox in order to have a more secure fit. I probably did not have to but it seemed to work better that way.

i have a couple of side boxes stacked together,
sorta like a "poor mans" locker

larger blow molded boxes wont fit front to back, but i use mine to store welding hoods, grinding shields, and gloves. the large cab in the wall was salvaged from one of our "decommissioned" service vans. it's only 12" deep but theres enough room for all 5 of my electric grinders, and enough room to store consumables.

if i didnt have the 2 side boxes, i'd consider a HF locker (or 2) for my needs.
