Snap-on toolbox warranty

I ran across a toolbox on CL from snapon. It's basically an older tool cart. The box has a rusted out slide and the rest of it is pretty rusty. My question is, would snapon warranty it? I started out not to long ago and it would help me out significantly. Thanks

snap on wont warranty a second hand tool box. it would be something you would have to repair yourself

Not likely. Rust is considered abuse anyways and would not be covered. Chances are if its that old they might not have replacement parts available.

Rust is not a warrantee problem but a lack of caring of the previous owner.

Ok, how about a first hand toolbox if it is in bad condition.

They may cover the slides but sounds like another case of abuse and not their problem.

They will send you the slides if they have them. A lot of the older friction slides are phased out and simply no longer available. There's no way they will warranty a rust issue.

They dont just give you a new toolbox when somthing like that happens. Nobody does.

Snap on will cover rust, the just did for a local box, the rust has to be below the finish

If the rust is a result of bad prep I could see that. If it is just a 25 year old box left outside, i wouldn't think they would cover that.
