Jesus. Lay off the Kool aid

Not really sure what that's supposed to mean :headscrat

Anyway, a hundred bucks isn't really steep for sunglasses if they're quality, go to any mall with a sunglass hut and buy a pair of ray bans for less than $150, your not gonna have much to choose from, at least with these they have a lifetime rebuild, but I have never tried them on if they seem chincy ill keep walking, I guess nobody else has tried them either.

Check out others I almost exclusively like metal frames on all glasses and Oakley is always my go to

If you can try them before since these look to be standard sunglasses with snap on

Metal frames huh? Are they impact rated too? It seems to me like metal frames would be easily bent, I'm assuming they're made of aluminum?

Read the link. They are made of Grilaramid, whatever the hell that is. Kevlar is an aramid fiber so they probably are pretty tough, but they know their market. Mark it SnapOn and they will buy it.

Seen them on the truck and they look nice my dealer said 1 year warranty though? Personally I use the 20$ safty shades from the parts store and the rest of the time go between two pairs of Maui Jim's one aviators at 180$ and one prescription nylon or whatever the frame is at 240$ I dont care what anybody says buying a quality pair of sunglasses is like night and day both in limiting light transmission and sharpening the image youre eyes see plus their both truely polarized which helps a lot when I'm fishing

Those are actually a good price, Grilamid is an excellent material, many sunglasses that cost much more are made of it. Polarized lenses, made in the USA, what's not to like?

How many of the cheap ones feature any of that?

The heck with it. It's your money do that you want. What's the lifetime rebuild agreement mean? Is there a fee involved? I mean I buy sunglasses all the time. They either end up lost, broken, or so scratched up they have to be thrown out anyway. I spend that much of disposable glasses anyway. So if it's possible to get a pair that can be fixed and are supposed to be made real good I guess why not? I've been getting my glasses in bulk on Amazon

The only way I'd pay that kind of money is if they were prescription; which I'd have to do anyway. Back in the day, 1980s, Serengeti were the best sunglasses.

The more I pay for sunglasses, the shorter the time until I lose or destroy them. If it's a $1.99 pair of safety glasses, I'll have them for years.

I completely destroyed a $50 pair of sunglasses in 20 minutes, so I'd give these $100+ sunglasses maybe 10 minutes in my hands.

I guess I can't have nice things.

Anyway, to the OP, if you like 'em, and you think you can keep 'em alive more than 10-20 minutes, it's your money.

One important thing you can't really tell from t'intarwebnets is how they'll fit your face, so if I were you I'd insist on trying on a pair first to see how they feel and look.

For example, I've got a big head, so a lot of sunglasses don't sit right and look kind of silly perched against my gigantic moon face. YMMV...

It says they have a lifetime rebuild agreement , which I assumes just a swap warranty, made in US, and can have prescription lenses put in. 92 bucks for the frame is a going rate, if not cheap for RX sunglasses. Wait till you see (ha) what the lenses cost.

How do you pronounce the word? I can't figure it out.

More then likely Gril-ara-mid

As mentioned above, Aramids are synthetic blends of fibers similar to nylon. Nomex, Kevlar, etc, etc, are Aramids....DuPont was a pioneer in this field.

Hey thanks ... I knew how to pronounce Aramid, but the Gril in front of it thew me off. The military uses 100% Aramid fabric for their flight suits; you can hold a direct flame to the material and it won't catch fire.

Lay off the Kool aid means stop buying the snap on hype and buying everything they put their brand name on. You want to spend big bucks on sunglasses go ahead, but atleast go spend it on a company that's actually in the sunglasses business, unlike snap on who is simply a middle man upcharging the hell out of some other manufacturers glasses.

I literally just spent 25 bucks at the mall on some sunglasses. They're polarized, comfy and work great. Came with a storage bag that doubles as a polish cloth too. And before you judge them, I had the exact same ones for a year prior, left them on my truck seat one night working late I hopped in the truck and CRUNCH. There they went.

I have had a pair of Liquid brand for years. They are aluminum frame with no hinges, you just bend them to fit your face. I hit them, knock them off all the time. They used to say alcoa on the side but it wore off. The lenses are a little scratched but I just deal with it.

If I bought everything snap-on putt their name on I wouldn't be here asking folks if they were garbage before I bought them would I?

I know snap on is rebranding them and I'm sure I could find them cheaper, but, the warranty is appealing, I'm gonna get all the details from my dealer on Wednesday and ill post back here for anyone interested.

Carreras were hot stuff, too. They were aviation style but a lever in the bridge flipped up and you could drop in a different set of lenses, even prescription. They came in two sizes. The big ones were pretty big by today's standards, at least for men. The were very well made and far from cheap.

It's grilamid not grilaramid. We use a lot of this material where I work.

Put me in the camp that can't keep nice things. Sunglasses would get lost or sat on. I am so bad, I haven't owned a pair in years.

My wife has a pair, she saw them in one of the fliers last year and asked me to get her some. She seems to like them...wish I would have known that before I bought her all those designer ones for a heck of a lot more :/
