Hi,
I've just been given a Snap-On QJR217D torque wrench by a friend who rediscovered it while moving house. Although it's by no means perfect it was free so i can't complain!
I've given it a good clean and lubed the ratchet mechanism but there are a few issues with it...
1. It is 3/8 drive but only covers a low torque range so would be better suited to 1/4 drive applications. Is it possible to convert the ratchet mechanism to 1/4 drive and if so what is the part number of the rebuild kit needed?
2. The dust cap is missing from the end of the handle. I've looked on Snap-On's parts catalogue but can't find it listed - does anyone know the part number for this?
3. The lock/unlock ring seems very stiff and may be gunked up as it was pretty dirty when i got it. Is it easy to take apart and clean out the locking mechanism or is this something that should be avoided?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks, Jim
