I picked up this really clean split beam torque wrench for next to nothing because the setting indicator was nonfunctional. I figured I could fix it or sale it for parts if that failed. After taking it apart I found the main calibration screw is broken. It doesn’t appear the bolt was overly torqued but maybe a flaw in the steel. Is that a part that can be purchased? I can see it in the Precision Instruments repair manual tqfr250-5 but I know it’s old...IMG_3587.jpgIMG_3588.jpg

Call precision instruments. I replaced the same part on mine. It was something like $10. You may want to replace the missing screen as well.

Talked to the folks at Precision Instruments. Truly great people! Turns out they didn’t make my Snap On wrench. The tqfr250e is made elsewhere with global sourced parts. What a disappointment, I guess I shouldn’t be so naive. Anyways I bought the parts on the off chance they will work in the clone. I do know that my next torque wrench will be bought directly from PI.
