I was wondering if anyones SO dealer pulls a trailer instead of driving a truck, a buddy of mine was telling me he saw a pickup pulling a 25ft (aprox.) trailer painted just like the trucks, and it was stopping at all the shops, does anyones dealer do this or have pics of this set up? Im curious to see one

Our MAC dealer used to have a trailer. He would buy a new crew cab 1 ton diesel pickup every two years to pull it. It was painted red with white MAC logo on it. He had been a MAC corporate rep and took over the franchise when it became available, so he got special permission to do the special color scheme. Top selling MAC dealer in the nation for several years running. Economy took a dive, he sold the trailer, his son picked up the route, and now he helps his son on the truck.

my uncle did for a few years. 30foot car hauler set up like a snap on truck inside.
he used a dodge 1 tondually 4x4
he just bought a regular truck and loves it. he was tired of the trailer. he had tons of tools in the trailer though.
plenty of room in there for lots of customers and lots of boxes.

My cousin bought a matco trailer at an auction, and uses it as his construction office trailer.
He gave me 10 of the good black and yellow magnetic bars.:bounce:

I saw that in my searches, I would lean more towards there being a race car in that trailer, but thats still cool

My former Mac now "American" tool dealer drives a low single-axle Freightliner with a tight Michigan-style trailer on it; he sells mostly Gearwrench and OTC nowadays.

My dealer used to have bigwigs follow him around every so often with a trailer full of toolboxes on "Special Pricing"
Don't remember it being that special, and haven't seen the trailer in a few years.

I think I know who you're talking about. Did he park his trailer outside the hangar at a certain large airline? Had payroll deduction arrangements set up so the mechanics could have their tool bill deducted from their paychecks.

It was all good until "certain large airline" went bankrupt, left the MAC man holding the bag, then kept on deducting the "tool payments" from the mechanics' paychecks.:wtf: That's the story I was told anyway.

If that's the same guy, he was a good fellow.

i will try andtake a pic this weekend of my uncles old trailer. It is locked up and empty
but itlooked like every other truck on theinside. heused a krl1022 w/o wheels for a desk. had the fold down ramp in the rear that made it easy to get boxes and compressors in and out.

Seems like it would be a huge pain in the *** trying to pull a 30 ft trailer through the parking lots of smaller shops.
