Hello everyone,

I am wondering if anyone can tell me how much a Snap On KTL7023 weighs after you take out the drawers.

I have the chance to buy one tonight, but not enough people to pick it up all together. Thus the inquiry about drawerless weight.

THank You.

It weighs 900 lbs empty with drawers, but I don't know how much the drawers add to the weight on a big box. On the smaller boxes I've dealt with it was probably 3/4 the box weight. I think if you could get a couple of people with strong backs to go with you it would be a pretty safe bet.

Myself and one other guy loaded my KR1000 with drawers. Used a ratchet strap to help walk it up my trailer. What are you using to haul it?

Definitely go with calling a rollback tow truck like mentioned already. Most tow truck drivers have moved toolboxes before if they have been on the job for awhile. It is a common way of moving these huge boxes.

BTW, I have a KRL1001 which is the biggest KRL double bank frame @ 54" wide, 47" High and 29" deep. I once moved it in a pickup truck. Even with all the drawers out it still took 3-4 guys to lay it over, pick it up and slide it in on a moving blanket and it is only 632 lbs empty. Hope this helps!!

I've loaded and unloaded a 56" Snappy alone. I removed the drawers, parked my truck so the wheels are on the gutter (to lower the truck the most), and loaded one end at a time. I heard that this is how dirt bikers load/unload bikes. Obviously, a triple bay would be a little heavier but I thought I'd add a data point.

I carried my 1201 off the back of a pick up to the top of my 1023 with another guy. I think it was 450ish pounds. I moved my 1023 with a motorcycle trailer I rented from Uhaul. Little ramp and close to the ground me and one other guy rolled it up effortlessly. Don't tell Uhaul it's for anything other than a motorcycle or they won't rent it to you. The 7023 is a little lighter than the 1023.

I would imagine the drawers are about 1/4 to 1/3 the weight. Picking it up empty will be interesting

I rented the same one for my mac 1080 but they wouldn't let me take it because I had an explorer & apparently they still won't deal with them from the rollover thing 15 or so years back. Went & got pretty much the same thing at Home Depot with a whole lot less paperwork & what not. I don't have that truck anymore but will still go back to hd next time for the great service.

So here is an idea for you....
I have done this a few times with success.
Take a couple of floor jacks and blocks.
Remove the drawers, roll up to the back of the truck.
Have the truck rear wheels ditched in the driveway to get the back the lowest you can.
Use the floor jack to pick up,the end of the toolbox that is at the tailgate. Once you can get a good tilt on that box it won't take nearly as much to tip it to her that end onto the tailgate.
Then move the floor jack to the other end to start picking it up. The higher you get that end the more you can push it onto the truck. At some point you can just give it a good push to get it all the way up to the wheels the. You either lift it, lever it up a bit or you can stack blocks so you can use the jack to get it to where you can push it in onto the wheels.

I have done it this way a few times when I am alone and just had to have it

Remember that you are not ever lifting the weight of the whole thing. And the more angle you tilt it at you are not even ever lifting half the weight because if where the center of gravity is

Ouch. Every time I see that video it makes me cringe. To the OP....very nice looking box. Glad it all worked out for you. You've gotta love those new KTL boxes with the 3 wide drawers.
