We have a Snap On dealer that comes to the shop I work at but I never see him because I work nights and weekends. So this last weekend I borrowed a test light that has a volt meter in it from a shop mate who works normal hours. I liked it so I asked him if he could order one for me. He sent a text to the dealer and since he lives close by he just came in and sold me one off the truck. I was thinking WOW! What service!
About a half hour later I decided I should open the box and make sure the thing works. I tested it on a battery and sure enough, no light, no gauge. Upon close inspection I noticed there was nothing inside the light. I mean NOTHING...as in hollow. No light, no spring thing, no readout, nothing.
He came back and apologized and is going to leave a new one with the other guy for me today. I just thought it was kind of funny and peculiar that it happened though. He blamed it on someone probably returning it after ****** it for parts for their broken one but why would anyone do that if it is warrantied any way? My guess is HE took the parts out to repair someone else's and never re-ordered the parts for this one.
At least I got my two 40 year old ratchets rebuilt while he was there. LOL
