I am wonder if it is good to investment on this TSLF936 ? i am going to work on engine and transmission repairs a lot.. also i use 1/4dr ratchets a lot where i cant use air ratchet much due to tight area.. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...group_ID=12838&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

i was plan to bid one at ebay but it already go over 60 dollars as my snap on guy will sell me 80 dollars... i dont have 1/4dr speeder handle... it is 11in long handle with flex ratchet... i like to have longest 1/4dr ratchet....

anyone have comment about this?

how about an air gun or cordless impact(thatas what i use)? I rebuild transmissions almost everyday and you'll get tired of anything but a power tool

I use my 3/8 impact for tear down, and the cordless impact set on low torque for assembly, and then all bolts get torqued.

I haven't picked up a ratchet in awhile.

that is very interesting to me. but i dont only work on transmission but engine too. i tried to use power tools and most time i tried to do but it is too tight area to do repair... like exhaust manifold on V6 that had cracked and i need use ratchet that flex angle so i can get it off as air ratchet cant flex but socket can flex but too tight area...

sometime i had to use 1/4dr snap on ratchet and it will loose the nuts.

other time i would like have this ratchet to do my side job at home where i am tired of waiting for air compressor finish fill up the tank (i had craftsman 33 gallon 2 hp (6.4 CFMs for 90 psi.)

even i would need longer 1/4dr ratchet to pull A/C compressor off on Sebring with 2.7L V6...

I prefer the speed wrenches, but that's a nice ratchet. I don't think you can go wrong. The funny thing about tools is that you really don't know if you'll need it untill you buy it and put it in your box. When you find yourself grabbing it alot you know you have done good. But if you don't have it you never know what you are missing.
I just bought a set of monster BluePoint Hemostats. I really didn't know If I'd need them or not, but I need "smaller" tools latley. Turns out I am constantly reaching for them now while working inside airplanes. I would have never known what I was missing before....

yeah, i am agree with you as if i have tool then i will know what i can do with this tool.... other thing that i hate said "Damn it, i need buy this tool..." :beer:

i was watched one ebay for same ratchet that i did talking about it and it go to 71 dollars plus 8 dollars for shipping... my snap on can get it for 80 dollars (no shipping fee). i did told my snap on guy to order it to show me that ratchet so i can have my idea what can i do with that tool before i buy......

ANYONE have comment????

I use mine for spark plug replacement its great for that, with a long extension and a swivel, crack the plug and then speed it out. Other than that i use it for the ocational flex head feature. It's not a must have tool. Kinda a showboat ratchet.

you use 1/4dr 11" long flex ratchet(it called speed ratchet) to do spark plugs replacements??

in Past time, most of money going to tools. but now i already have tools what i need to work on vehicles and i am saving my money for living now but i just wonder if i need this ratchet or not?? :bounce:

Oh i forget to tell that i dont have any tool trucks debts... i paid what i buy, not make any payments....

I hate running anything in & out with handtools, unless it's something extremely fragile - or nothing else will fit. We've got a couple of older guys who still live in the dark ages, when you had a crappy gun, an air ratchet, and handtools.

I use a cordless 3/8" impact on anything it will reach, and has the torque needed.

For spark plugs? Yup, I use a 3/8" cordless impact. Buzz them all out, start the new ones by hand, run them in with the impact, then switch to a ratchet to torque.

The battery charger runs and hides in the bottom of my box when I have an engine job. I usually go through 2 Makita batteries that day. :D

you make good point! i have three 1/4dr air ratchets... mac tools old air ratchet, AR251 (mac tools flat head) and FAR25 Snap on air ratchet.....

But what if air ratchet cant break loose?? i cant swing the ratchet that short length unless have longest length like snap on ??

i own 3 1/4dr air ratchet (two mac tools and one snap on), 2 1/4dr impact wrench (both is blue points), one 3/8dr air ratchet (mac tool Flat head AR1776), two 3/8dr impact wrenches (both is snap on as MG31 and IM31), finally... 3 1/2dr impact wrenches (IR 2135ti, Snap on IM5100, and Mac tools AWA434)

i own electric impact wrench (GOodyears with 24V) it is rated up to 170 ft lbs.

Thanks! i bought all of them that was used and some of them are rebuilt. i bought Snap on FAR25 from Pawn store for 45 dollars instead buy new one at snap on truck for like 250 dollars.... all air tools are used but some of them had been rebuilt... :beer: :thumbup: :beer:

the dealership did told me to buy quiet air tools because i used air tools a lot and some of them had no muffler or queit system that cause service advisor cant heard on phone while i am working... oops :bounce: :spit:
