For years I've had drawers (lower) ******* with cordless tools and never really used my hutch other than a catchall junk collector it's one of those things I thought I needed while working in a shop to be able to lock up my junk. Since the box ended up at my home shop, I got tired of the clutter and useless space.
Here's what I did.
It's been a work in progress so don't nitpick the mess on the top.
Here's a few ideas that might benefit some others. The lighting is kind of iffy. Tried pics with the led in the hutch off and on.
I mounted the m18 charger and a power strip on the slots and dots board in the back right. The surge strip is turned off and on and a Home Depot 32" led is also plugged into that.
All the cordless and air tools are hung using peg board "drill" holders. Some were tweaked to fit each tool. I used some peg board straight hooks to hang the sawzall. I ordered a pack of the snap on slot hooks. The circular saw and one cordless tool are on those.
I used a few magnet hooks from harborfrieght to hang the large speed square and misc stuff in open spots. I hung my lug nut 2in1 sockets up using the screw down spring clips I got with the hutch when I bought it. Also used some of the smaller ones to have the commonly used hex bits ready. Also used some magnetic bit holders to stick on the sides to utilize some of the wasted side space.
It'll be nice to have a usable worktop again.
