Fix listed below:
After setting the BIOS clock I was able to use windows system restore and it works now!
Verify the BIOS clock is correct
Verify the system clock is correct
Access system restore and restore to the last time it worked correctly
Once it works again I would suggest adding a new restore point

So my used (and admittedly ancient) Verus hasn’t been working the last two days.
I’m getting an authorization error upon start up; “ A problem was detected with the authorization of this application. Please contact customer care.
Now obviously customer care is a no go

I know the internal battery is shot as the date and time has to be reset upon start up. I have only found one mention of this and it involved setting the clock to the correct time and that worked yesterday. However, when I went to use it today that trick no longer works.

Anybody run into this? Or have any ideas?

Or a suggestion on a different scope that’s not gonna cost me a lot of money

Well here’s an update:
I went into the bios to check the date and it was wrong I changed it to the correct date. Unfortunately that didn’t fix the issue.
