Don't believe these liars...Give me the name and phone number to the con-man who is trying to sell them to you at that outrageous price, so I can call him up and let him give him a piece of my mind...(And $75....LOL)...Just kidding...Jump on them if you already haven't...

Be patient. I bought one for $75 a few weeks after I left a message. It seems nobody else came to buy them so the guy called me. The newer ones have glass in the doors. I like this style with solid doors. I made a propeller storage cabinet out of mine.

FYI, all there propellers are left hand turn for the various Mercury automatic-transmission outboards made form 1957-62. This is a Mercury Merc 250, 25 HP Super Hurricane sold only in 1962.

In the time it took you to ask if they were worth it..you could have bought them, brought them home to your garage, posted pictures and sold them here for 150ea easy...

Update!!!

So I read a thread here on GJ about a wife who bought a SO stack for her GJ husband for Christmas and didn't tell him. It was a stack he had found in a pawn shop, and he had tried getting a better price and then it had disappeared before he had the money. She had conspired with the pawn shop to get it for him. I read it to my wife, Julie.

She emailed this guy, telling him I really wanted these.
I just got a call from him. He said they were listed before, but he went away during the holidays and didn't sell them.
Picking them up tonight...!!!

They will go on the wall of the Grunge Garage, over the Stronghold cabinets and butcher block top bench. The Grunge Garage will be the new "Great Little Garage".

OK,
Here's, as Paul Harvey used to say,"The rest of the story".

To preface this, let me say, I wanted this badly. But the seller isn't always as excited about the sale, as you are to buy. The first day, when I sent him an email, I expected to hear back quickly. And when no response was forthcoming, I assumed it went to someone else. At this price it couldn't just sit there, could it?

But then after I had long given up on it, I got an email from him. WOW! I've got a chance. I immediately responded. Then no call from him. And no email with his phone number. Again I gave up. Maybe he gave or sold it to a friend. It's happened to me before. My wife Julie, unknown to me, has sent an email to the guy, telling him how much I want it.

The next morning I get a call. I can pick it up that night after 5pm. But he doesn't give me a home phone or address. He will call me. 5 o'clock comes and goes, then 6 and 7. I lose hope again. Finally, late that night I get an email. He had to work late. Boiler problems.

So the next night after 6 is set. Still no phone or address. He will call, he says. I tell him I have a Dr.'s appointment at 5:30 and I'll call him. He gives me a number. 6:30 and I call. No answer. Beginning to think I have a flake. I remember one seller who, when I got there, after confirming 5 minutes before, had sold the item and was drunk on her ***.

I try again and my phone messes up. I email and we set it for 8. 8 o'clock and I'm on the way there and call. No answer! I get there and just as I do, 2 cars pull in and he's back in the garage working on a truck. He pulls them out of the rafters and I pay. YES!!!

Lesson?...Never give up! And remember, sometimes they are busy and just don't care as much as you do, about the transaction.

And the cabinets look way better than the photos. No rust. Missing a lock and keys. Photos soon.

PS, This guy is a Camaro and Trans Am guy, so I invited him to GJ.

I'm sure you needed them Bill...

Jeff,
Absolutely! I need a lot of things, and you and I know what is at the top of the list, but also, I need things to put things in. Part of organizing this house is buying the right cabinets and containers to properly put away things, rather than having them in cardboard boxes. So 2 Stronghold cabinets and 2 SO cabinets is reasonable for the garage. They could have just been wood kitchen cabinets off a junk pile, but that is also part of the improvement in thinking. No more junk. Don't you think?
