No clue if this is old news, but I just submitted a warranty on a pair of pliers online. First time I have seen a method, always said you had to call them in first, but I did have to use my account. Never asked for a pic pr anything, just how I bought it.... we will see how it goes.
NEVER had an issue with call in, might even miss talking to the super nice people I've always gotten in the past! Will update progress.....

I just had a similar experience, my first warranty request to Snap On in 11 years of owning the brand. I submitted a warranty claim for a 16 oz dead-blow ball peen hammer that I noticed has started to come apart yesterday morning. Based on what has seemed to have been some previous combative back-and-forth with the mothership's customer service regarding proof of purchase/ownership, I managed to dig up my original purchase receipt from the truck 10 years ago and added pictures to my email claim. I mentioned in the email that I bought the tool from a dealer but have since moved and haven't worked with a franchisee since and cannot warranty with the driver I originally purchased from. I just received an email- on a Sunday morning- saying they are processing the request and will send a replacement without requiring me to send the broken tool back.

Certainly not as convenient than stepping on a truck and handing the broken tool over and immediately receiving a replacement, but I'm quite satisfied with how my first warranty claim is proceeding at this point, especially considering that the price of this tool has increased 50% in the last decade since I purchased it.
