I just received quite a few snap on tools from my wifes cousin. There are some rachets and swivel sockets that are in need of repair. What are the conditions to see if I can get them fixed.

You have two options. First one is to chase down the snap on truck and talk to him. The second is to email snap on and tell them you have some tools to warranty. Unless they ask don't tell them you didn't buy them. Either way don't try and warranty a bunch of tools at one time, don't think a truck driver or snap on would like that.

Another option, at least for the ratchets, is just to order the repair kits (shipping is free too) off the SO website and rebuild them yourself. You can even order the special tool for holding the ball bearing in place above the spring. Once you've tried to rebuild a ratchet without it, you'll understand why it's worth its weight in gold. I think when I got mine they were less than $1. :rocker:

If he emails snap on and asks for a kit they will send him one for free. Then order the 99 cent with free shipping tool like you mentioned.

i always had a SO guy around, until the past 3 years..

email SO with the tool part #'s
within a day or so, they'll get back to you.

they asked no questions about "ownership", or demanded "proof of purchase"

i even offered to send pics of the broken tools......

the only time i was ever qustioned about the age or origin of a broken tool was from cornwell, they couldnt find a kit for an old stubby ratchet i have, they did send me a kit, but it wouldnt fit in the head, i returned the kit and ratchet to them last week for replacement.
