Hey, I just picked up a Snap On WB250. Everytime I use it, the balancer gives me an "EEE" error. I went to try to calibrate it (I found the calibration instructions online) but it won't accept the calibration. Anyone have one of these balancers and know something about it, that I can talk to?

Thanks in advance.

The only times I see an EEE on my WB-240 (which is essentially the same), is when something is touching the spinning wheel, or when I turn the spindle too much without a wheel clamped on it, or when I spin it too fast.

If you spin the wheel by hand, just accelerate it until it beeps, then let go. If you still get an EEE, you need to repair something. Calibration is not the issue.

Well, the spindle can sometimes rotate freely when you're tightening the nut if you're supporting the wheel (which you kind of need to do, to get the centering good on larger wheels). When that happens, I'll get a long beep and an EEE. Don't sweat that.

Just get the wheel on correctly, spin it until it beeps, and let go. If it eventually beeps, engages the brake, and shows the correct display, then you're fine. If it still shows EEE, your machine is broken.

I found the problem... seems there is a rat that decided to live inside the machine and eat at the reluctor wheel. just my luck. I have my Snap On man looking for parts for the machine now. Thanks!

If anybody has any. I need the 2 different sized plastic hubs and rubber rings that go on the spindle nut and ride up against the wheel. Good Used or New.

evil_twin if you end up scrapping your machine I would be interested in these.

Thanks,
Rob

I wont end up scrapping it, but I can send you the parts manual and owners manual. I just called SnapOn and had them email it to me.

Snap-On makes great hand tools....unfortunately, they have very little in the way of quality service for their larger equipment. You could try and contact their equipment services division, 1-800-225-5786

I also have a WB250. SnapOn will fix the unit for a flat rate of $840 plus tax. Only a 90 say warranty, but they say it will run like new.

They also said to NEVER spin the balancer with no wheels...NEVER. This will through the machine off and can not be calibrated unless you send the unit to them again...for another $840?
