is it just me or does the snap on website get worse with every update.

in the UK we have lost all technical specs including toolbox dimensions and power tool outputs. now in the US you appear to have lost spare parts (we've never had these in the UK)

a while back they removed all information from spare parts online.

new products hasn't changed for well over a year.

They should be ashamed of it. It's also not very tablet friendly. You wonder what they are thinking

The website isn't really a priority. Pretty much a nonessential part of their business model.

it used to be a handy tool to research tools for a job. I used to look on the website then text my dealer. The catalogues are out of date before they are printed.

I actually emailed SO UK months back about the website, told them about the issue's. They didn't even bother responding.

So i emailed SO USA and copied in the CEO, they did respond but they couldn't have cared less.

I'm a DIY'er so I have to pretty much use the site. I was looking for a 3/8 comfort grip ling flex head and it seems it's missing from the site, as is the chrome version.

You guys could just download the Snap-on app and it gives you the conplete catalog at your finger tips. It will also link to the website of stuff you want to order as well

Yeah, their website is horrible. Probably as bad as Sears I would say.

If I need something from snap on, I have a physical and .pdf copy of the catalog. I look through that, then type it into the website to get prices. Way easier than searching the website!

It's on the site if you punch in the part number. Give me a better description and I'll give you the part number. I got the printed catalog right here.

I like it to check retail prices against Ebay, etc. I copy & paste part numbers in their search box. Alot of the part numbers have changed

I've always been a little curious how much business the website directly generates from purchases. I don't have a driver so I have to buy from the site, but I would have to imagine people buying off the site are a lot less frequent than a tech at a shop who gets a weekly truck coming by.

I wish I didn't know about that, it could get expensive quick!

I just went on the updated site, and I actually like it better than the last revision. the drop down/ mini menus actually seem to work and it seems a little more organized than before if you are trying to get to something without clicking through multiple pages.

There was a thread about potential updates to the ratchets, so I'd put that down to a fluke or co-incidence with changing the p/n and maybe removing the only page or something.

But obviously, the SO website is a project that was never a best in class execution and its probably being updated by the same people that did the original. They are unfortunaltely stuck in some rut / path dependence. Senior management probably doesnt really care. Ultimately not trying to cannabalise sales from other channels (ie, the drivers).

The catalogs--including the specialist ones--are actually great to look at and have a lot of tools and/or combinations of things that you can't find in other places. They also seem to have good technical on whole families of tools in a way which they don't have on the website.

I would recommend searching for some (using *.pdf) via google, but do prepare to hold onto your wallet.

I am still wondering why there are no longer any parts listed for the old tool boxes.

Nothing listed for new boxes either, unless you have a part number. Last I knew tool box parts arent in the catalog, so that doesnt work (slides, locks and detents exempted).

Example, search for 1003JL72, KRL 4" drawer, lists any color.
https://store.snapon.com/SearchResults.aspx?q=1003JL72&IsPartsSearch=0&departmentName=Tool%20Catalog

Now click on repair parts and you get nothing.

For such a large corporation, their website is an embarrassment.

Updates to the ratchets? I'm not immediately finding the thread, what are they changing?

Changes to new snap on flex head ratchets

I've been waiting for my dealer to get me a 3/8 flex head ratchet with comfort grip for about 2 weeks now. Today he told me that they are making some changes to them. Anyone know what those changes are?

Confirmed that all the flex joints for 1/2 down to 1/4 are being updated to being minutely thicker. Visually it looks the same. Only change.

The affected part numbers will all be updated suitable marking (eg, 'A')

after the model # per the other thread as well.

Went on to look at pry bars last night and they aren't there. The striking pry bars show 1 black 30" and the striking crown should only a few large ones. I have a driver but rarely see him as I'm always working out of town so I refer to the website often to see how much things are and that determines how bad I need them.

Is it just me or does it seem as if nearly half of the items don't have corresponding pictures???

I have notched that too, especially the tool storage, they want 3k for a side locker but can't put a few pictures of the inside and out, let alone even 1 of the outside.
