Hello all. I just finished refinishing my snap on 1750 vise. It was obviously originally red. I bought a can of extreme green spray paint off the snap on truck and contacted Wilton about some new Snap On labels. My neighbor media blasted the old paint off after I disassembled it. Two coats of self etching primer and three coats of extreme green. It is far from perfect, but I'm happy with it. It is a vise and it will get used after all is said and done.

Wait, did you say they sell extreme green paint directly from the truck? PN please!

Awesome end result, it makes me want to paint my colombian that color.

Looks awesome! I just finished refurbishing my Wilton 1750 in Verde Green (with new Wilton labels), but I must admit I like yours better. Your jaws look brand new :thumbup:

I bought it used and aside from the old paint being worn, it was in very good condition. I live in Talamore, about a mile north of your work!

That vise looks great. I have been trying to get replacement labels for my snap on vise and was told No one had them.

Great job on painting it green and not rounding over the edges. :thumbup: You might want to consider flipping the bolt/nut upside down or use an acorn nut to cover the exposed threads.

Acorn nuts would work. I cannot flip the bolts over because the are carriage bolts and only go through the wood work surface. I did not drill the holes through the top of my KR1001.

Shouldn't be an issue...take your writing panel off (I assume Epiq's have one too) and bring it to a Paint Jobber...personally I'm a fan of Maine Auto Color....I've had all kinds of things matched & mixed...perfect every time. Usng the paint codes off the back of my box, it took them about 3 clicks and 5 mins to mix me a pint of Gloss Black to match my KRL Dead On...
And yes, they can custom mix spray cans..

Depending on whos behind the counter of your local NAPA, its hit or miss...I assume the Westbrook Distro/Store could also do it..

Can someone school me on these Wilton vises ? Are they no longer made or something ?

Nice job looks great. I restored an old beat up Canadian made vise, I went with a metallic green paint. It was very rewarding and I've gotten a lot of use out of it but I don't like scratching it though lol.

I like the paint and clean job you did
However I would like to see the correct hardware used ,
The bolt should probably be 5/8" and with a 16mm metric washer it will fit perfect. Wilton recommend pilot hole of 11/16
You can use nylon nuts on bottom and in my case I used vibratite

His hardware choice is fine, it's bolted onto a tool box which is on wheels after all.

It's not even bolted to the box. It's bolted to the wood top. There are bolts going through the top and recessed from the bottom with a Forster bit the depth of the bolt head to let the top sit flush on the toolbox.
