The tool didn’t sell the year it was made? During WW2 they used tools that were made earlier and re-stamped them with wartime date codes. I have some examples of both early tools and wartime tools.IMG_8907.jpegIMG_8906.jpeg

Very prevalent from 1929 to 1932 at the start of the Great Depression. If you're genuinely interested and not just a 1-post flyby fishing for easy info for a sales ad, you can see them if you search the Snap-on thread.

I appreciate the information as I have heard a few different stories, is no Guarantee also from the same period? No Guar means no Guarantee because they couldn’t guarantee the tools at the time ? I also heard that the military men had to sign the tools out and if they broke them that they had to pay for them? I thank you sir for your response, I’m glad I found someone who can inform me and I appreciate your time and knowledge

No Guar tools were simply tools that were likely to break during use. I very much doubt the military tall tale. This very early ratchet has multiple date codes. IMG_2577.jpegIMG_2611.jpegIMG_2612.jpeg

I can confirm that the story about signing out tools and having to pay for replacements while in military service is nothing more than a tall tale. In fact, some tools were checked out for life. Same with equipment.

I thank you sir for both your knowledge and for your service. I also am a veteran but just not during those times

Originally the tools had a one year guarantee. The date was dealer stamped when sold. Why some have two (or even ones with three have turned up) is speculative. One possibility is the dealer stamped them when he/she received them they weren't sold right away so were restamped a second time when sold.

I’m trying to find my date code as well. Fhlf80. They told me this is a 2008. Doesn’t look like it at all.
