Snap-on worth it?

I've mostly been using OTC for my specialty kits and pullers. Just wondering if Snap-ons is worth the price? If so, which specialty tools and testers are worth looking into from snap-on?

Thanks for any input

I have to say the ball joint press is sweet compared to the otc. I have all otc style suspension tools, and other test equipment is not snap on. Scanner and boroscope are.

Snap-on is nice if you work in a shop and they come to you for sales and warranty stuff, and they make it a very easy process. Plus, with snap-on, you might pay more up front, but it should last you for the rest of your career, if not your life. So yeah they're expensive, but you only need one.

If you don't have a truck that visits the shop, then I'd buy the tool from the company that actually makes it, if at all possible.

I'm changing geographical locations... leaving being a diesel tech in Hawaii to probably central Florida.

I like proto pullers and they are made in the usa and cheaper than snappy.

For what it is worth: Quite a bit of Snap-On's and Williams' 2 & 3 jaw pullers, slide hammers etc, are made by Hydramec. Some of the part numbers are direct matches (most of the individual components). Other part numbers are different but if you compare the specs between the two, the crossovers are easily found. About the only difference I can see between the two is that the Williams have a black coating on the yokes and such. That, and the prices online for the Williams run about 1/3 of Snap-On MSRP.

Thank you for the responses... I am gonna give the snap-on #bjp1 and #cj132a a try. Just wished I jumped on the BJP1 when they had their special on them right before fathers day.

Mine was only $300 used (popped up on CL about 2 hours after Id spent about 170 on the full HF set). I made a saddle for U joints, and a couple angled cups for AAM 1 ton fronts, although I think SO sells that adapter.

there are a few on Ebay.
