Not owning any Snap-On wrenches, I seem to be noticing that their standard wrenches are generally longer than Crastfman and SK?
Is that a good or bad thing?
Please, no "I am a Chevy guy, so Fords ****!" opinions. LOL

its a great thing.....you can get more torque on a long wrench so you can break loose stubborn fasteners

I have both Craftsman and Snap On wrenches. If I could only have one brand of wrench it would be Snap On. not only do the longer handles give you more torque, but the thinner heads fit in tighter places.

The length of Snap-on wrenches are the standard by which all other wrenches are compared to. I won't buy wrenches that are any shorter.

the SO wrenches are longer than the cman raised panel wrenches.
the cman pro wrenches are the exact same lenth/size as the SO ones

look at it this way:
snap on standard lenth
cman rainsed panel mid lenth
snap on shorties
snap on stubbies

you now have 4 lenths to work with

From midgets to their H.P. double box, SO sells all lengths. I had a full set of metric Flank Drive Plus wrenches that were the right length for most things. Sometimes you need a real long, or short wrench, soo.........start with something like that, then add different length sets as you go.:bounce:

At one point I had a SO set in SAE and metric. I liked the Craftsman raised pannel length better in metric as they were often used in confined spaces and less old rusted stuff than the SAE, so I sold the SO metrics.
I now keep snap-on length Protos in the main box for both SAE and Metric and stubbies in both. Craftsman pros and raised pannel metrics in the roll cart. For me if I had one set of combos, it would be the longer type for SAE and a midsize for metric.
