Snap On XB3234 vs. XB3234A

What does the A designation denote at the end of XB3234A? I bought a used XB3234 to fill a gap but am curious. Thanks in advance.

Without the A suffix if memory serves is a pre 1990 and a bit shorter then the A, if it's a B it should be flank drive.
