Anyone use the Double box end ratcheting wrenches from S.O.?

These appear to be 0 degree offset? & extended length?

Any reviews? Pros/Cons.

They are pretty nice, thicker beam than the true XDH wrenches. The box end dimensions and OAL are pretty much spot on tho. I have a couple in select sizes, like in 17mm, which is useful in a bunch of things where the box end and the leverage and not having to mess with multiple tool swaps is good thing.

Suprisingly, the CMAN by GW in the sizes above 13mm or so is pretty useful for being $80/set and $50 on sale (not $500/set). The box end geometry and OAL is nearly interchangeble.

Several caveatsL (1) The smaller sizes in CMAN feel like toys that might snap. (2) The ratchet ends are slightly different, with the internals of the snappy obviously better. The engagement has a lot less backlash, which means the effective 5* arc is nowhere near 5* on the cman because ther is 5* of slop before it engages (the tooth count is sort of irrelevant, but its the same on paper).

For non precision work and just getting bolts turned this is a good option. SO is great for a pro box and somewhere secure where you don't need to worry about theft or inventory loss because you have adequate security/insurance. For tools to throw in a truck, or do extensive field work, the unit costs are very high and it may make sense to look at other options.

Overally, I would buy USED non-ratcheting XDH and the GW if on a budget. If you have the capital budget and/or can use the xdhr to eliminate other duplicate tools (like combo ratcheting wrenches altogether), then look at maybe buy once cry once.

If you need to lean on stuff or work with small sizes (think moto/aerospace) definitely try to get authentic snap-on of some kind as they are so much better for this particular use. If these are tools that solve "possibly, maybe" type problems, the original SO stuff is great but possibly overkill.

They are Part of Snap on High performance series of wrenches and They are by far my favorite wrenches. I have a few 10,13,15mm. I used them to do brake jobs and under hood work. It has the best of both worlds with the extra length. A super slim flank drive box end and a fine tooth ratcheting end in a slim but extra long package. The chrome and overall quality is top notch... in my op their worth every penny.

And I have a broad range of brands I'm partial to Snap on for somethings including specialty wrenches and ratchets. For reference My daily use combos wrenches are Cman RP USA 4 sets 2ea. Met and Sae great wrenches but the snap ones are in a different universe of quality. I kinda chuckle when I look at them next to each other.

And the comment above is spot on as usual T45... :D

Have them, never use them. Always reach for my Matco flex ones first.
