I have taken apart my Snap-On YA-700 hydraulic unit . The plastic guide is firmly stuck in the cylinder. It got pressed in by the piston and metal washer falling off and turning sideways. I am thinking to use a 1"bolt and screw it into the plastic guide then pull the bolt out. Any better ideas?

I use a Small Slide Hammer with a Homemade Hook attachment, it comes out easier if you attempt to remove evenly (working side to side). Make sure you don't drive the guide completely to the bottom, Otherwise you will have to remove the cylinder as you cant get below it.

It is already on the bottom because of the washer and piston pushing it there. What is left of the seal is below the plastic guide . I am thinking that it would also be a good idea not to scratch the inner cylinder wall as I try to get it out.

Id be willing to bet that there is still enough room below the Guide (especially since there part of the Seal below it) that if you find a small "L" shaped hook and attach it to a slide hammer or a simple Hand puller you can pull the guide out (evenly). As far as scratching the cylinder? Simply make the hook portion smaller than 3/8", which is the thickness of a New Guide to reduce the risk of getting into the wall. Ive torn down 100's if thousands of this style, 80% or better of them leave the guide/ring/Seal remnants in the because when the seal deteriorates it allows everything to come off the end.

Good Luck

Long carriage bolt works. Slip the flange of the head under the ring and bump it out. Work side to side.
