I was looking to purchase an 2.5 to 3 ton floor jack for lifting my Chevy Silverado. I'm rookie and needed some assistance in my selection. I was looking at a used 2.5 ton Snap on ya700b for $300 or a new 3 ton Hein Werner for $460. Are these jacks made in the USA and are they rebuildable?

The current model Hein Werner 93652 is assembled in the USA from USA and global components. It is rebuildable, with seal kits and other replacement parts.

You may have to be careful with the Snap On YA700B. I believe some of the YA-700Bs are the same as the 93652 and will have the same replacement parts as the 93652. However, others of the YA700Bs apparently had a different hydraulic unit. See this link to get an idea how to differentiate them: https://www.hcrcnow.com/shop/seal-kits/product/6036

Would you say the Hein Werner is worth the money at this price point? Is it the same quality and replacement parts the same as when it was all American?

The current 93652 is a good jack. It’s success is based on having a simple, yet well thought out hydraulic design with quality parts and rebuild capability.

Yes, I have a current model 93652, bought 1 year ago. It is a utilitarian jack. No frills, just works. To me, it was not about how much it cost when I bought it because I expect to be using it until I can’t work on vehicles anymore. It is a different type of mindset than the “it only cost $*** dollars, if it lasts X years before I need to buy another, I’ll be happy” mindset.

The changes to the 93652 that I took note of before I bought it include 1) the seal on the pump piston changed. It used to be leather chevron seals and got changed to a polyurethane U cup. 2) the reservoir vent used to be one piece all plastic, now it is metal with a plastic cap on top. The power unit and pump assembly are physically the same, but I believe are now the “global” components.
