Do they put it on the web anywhere? I see on their FB page they show sale items but I have to believe there are more then 10-12 items in their flier

If you click the big center ad on their website it brings you to this

http://bluetoad.com/publication/?i=148017

It says offer expires 3/31/13 on the bottom, so it's a monthly thing I'm assuming. My snapon guy comes tomorrow and I have yet to see the physical March flier yet. Whether it's the same as the website one I can't say yet.

I have the March flier and it's different than the body tools flier that's on the website. I wish my dealer would have brought that as well. I guess as it sits I'm just lucky to see a SO dealer at all.

No.

Hot Deals monthly flyers are not on any website.

Not all drivers participate as it is voluntary and requires a "buy-in" and the sale items vary from region to region with a core of national sale items each month.

It's a "truck only" perk that keeps foot traffic and sales up at the truck level.

Do you just go from one SO thread to the next to nag about what their tools cost? This is the second time I've seen you do it today...

Nobody buys that kind of stuff from Snap-On unless they're incredibly desperate or really on the koolaid. I think all their utility knives are made in China so it doesnt even have domestic manufacture going for it.

The last page, the mobile tool chest. Its made by Pelican. And a lot cheaper with the Pelican badge. Other than that I love everything in the flyer.

A lot of their stuff is made in Canada now, eh. I've noticed Portugal too. THAT does turn me off quite a bit. I bought a set of files the other day that came from China since I couldn't find any US made ones, even on the SO site. I paid $6 for the Chinese ones. Would have paid an insane amount more for SO ones if they were US made, but since they were from Portugal...meh.

That's just a touch screen ethos with a color display. Does the same thing as the old ethos. I have the old ethos and it works good for pulling codes and watching data but it doesn't have a scope or bi-directional controls so you can't command things on or off like you can with the modis

Anyone have a pdf or scan of the current hot deals flyer?

This is dangerous but I've been on a tool kick, again.

I thought the same as you until I got into a shop. I work from 7 to usually 7 and my tools are my paycheck. I don't get a chance to drive 30 min to lowes/sears/hf to warranty. I also don't have time for a tool to fail, not that snap on doesn't it just fails less in my experience. If I need something I call my driver and he brings it to me. If he doesn't have it I price it on amazon and prime ship it if it is a lesser used tool. Daily numerous use tools I prefer snap on. I wouldn't be able to justify snap on if I weren't a professional that requires a certain level of tool performance day in day out. I do buy proto as often as possible as they have never let me down either. My toolbox is a hodgepodge of hand me downs and top boxes on roll carts lol, tools pay bills boxes don't, until I can afford a good one lolol.

+1, and a few more things to add:

Having the option to finance $50 weekly on revolving truck account instead of throwing $500 down at once makes life a lot easier to budget, especially if you're living almost paycheque to paycheque (not unusual for new mechanics). I pay less for tools every month on the truck than I used to in big box stores hunting the lowest sale price.

Most importantly I get the full range of sizes I need, whereas the big box stores will sell you an incomplete set. I lost a 10mm stubby GearWrench, went to 4 CanadianTires on the way to work, and not one of them stock my missing wrench by singles. Lose a socket? "Sorry we don't carry that in singles, you're gonna have to buy the whole set.". See the trend here?

The real kicker is the BOGO deals on the flyers. Buy a socket set, get a free ratchet. Buy a box, get a free scanner. Buy the SAE and get the metric free, yadda yadda. You'd be stupid to think people actually pay full retail for every piece on a box full of SnapOns.

I am with you but they have Koolaid drinkers. I was young once and was one of them. That being said, Snap On is probably overpriced. They provide great hardline tools and provide great service though. I started with MAC, went to Snap On with little complaints, but I am back to MAC. Snap On just got way too pricey for me. Love their stuff, but $150 for a ratchet Seriously? $500 for a set of wrenches hell, unlike the Snap On faithful, I'm gonna retire. Look for deals and check MAC out. Matco is a ripoff, imo.

You just have to be smarter than the snap on flyer...If you dont wanna spend $20 on a utility knife then dont.

that statement pretty much sums it up...

and in the FWIW department.

nearly every new snapon tool & box i've bought over the past 30 years was bought off the truck, at list price.

the only things that werent at list prices were leftover promo sets....

yes, all my tools & boxes are paid in full.

I bought the auto loading utility knife and it was $30 but then again I had someone call me Donald trump's blue collar competition in the shop lol. What's 30 bucks for a snap on knife that's built solid as hell?

You gotta be smart with where you spend your money. If you use tools every day for a living then think of what you use the most and spend more on it. I usually buy my ratchets from Snap on or matco, my sockets from lowes since there's a lowes right next to the dealership I work at. Working on some channellock pliers right now to replace my HF ones.
