Snapon 150 ft/lb Torque meter

Anyone have ideas where I can find a crystal for the meter face? measures 1- 13/16" dia. According to the date code it appears to be a 1937 torque wrench, over all in good shape but the lens was changed to a piece of cut plastic that is so yellow you can just barely see through it. Took it to work last week and checked it against the torque meter on the tool truck and it is still fairly accurate! Not planning on using it, more of a display.

I had a similar situation with one I found at an estate sale back in January. The lens was quite obscured and after soaking the retaining ring with WD-40 for a couple of days I gingerly pried off the ring and started cleaning as much staining as I could off of the face and the lens. It might be possible for a company like Tap Plastics to make a replacement lens since yours is yellowed.

OK perhaps it was originally plastic, I was just thinking being that old it should be glass. Looks like I will need to do more research.

I think mine is older, has a black faced dial. The date code puts it 1937. It had a light that would light when the torque was reached.
I'll get pictures when I get time.

I have two with the white faced dials. One with lens cover one without. As Don indicated, the cover is definitely plastic. At least on these ones. Let us know if you find a replacement source.
