Snapon 3/4" Ratchets?

I've been looking on ebay at the snapon 3/4" drive "system". There's 2 different 3/4" ratchet heads an L872 and an L72T. Is there any difference between the 2 besides surface finish? Did the new ratchets get more teeth?

After I came in to find operations had destroyed my 3/4" Icon breaker bar it's time to upgrade. I'm at 20 minutes on hold with Icon trying and figure how to warranty it from Alaska. I'm going to replace it with snapon 3/4" system because I have a great local rep who handles warranty stuff.

I'm curious to know the method in which your 3/4" breaker bar was destroyed? Forklift and a cheater pipe? I haven't seen 3/4" destroyed by much less than that and wondering if the Icon has a weak spot?

Me too, I found it in the scrap bin. I believe they had some stuck 24mm bolts on the nose of a concrete pump and put a large pipe on it though will never know the true story. I'm guessing the operators thought it was the company's tool and didn't realize it was a personal tool.

If warranty is an issue, how did you get it in the first place? Also, post pic of the carnage.

I've broken a brand new unused Pittsburgh Pro 1/2" breaker bar removing a pittman arm bolt torqued to 150 lb-ft.

1/2" are easy to break, i wouldn't even question that. I've broke multiple USA Craftsman and several tool truck versions of those without a cheater myself over the past 35 years.
3/4" drive is a whole different ballgame though. Even the $25 HF Pittsburgh Pro 3/4" one is rated at 750 ft-lb and I have put a 5ft iron pipe cheater and a winch on it and it survived...

I was given an EZRed extendable 3/4” ratchet as a gift from my son. It will get limited use by me on my tractor, but it seems he’ll for stout, and the price isn’t horrid.

The 15/16 handle model is a heavy unit for sure.
I ended up just keeping my 13/16 as its much lighter especially when you have the 36 inch handle on it.
The 13/16 handle flexes heaps but does not bend at all. 15/16 are known to bend obviously with a pipe on the end.
Check out the Par-x / Cat ones that come up identical but with out the extra chrome.

The L872 ratchet head works with a 15/16 diameter handle and the older L72 has a handle hole for a 13/16" handle.

Thanks for the clarification, sounds like buying the newer stuff is worth it if you break something.

I was living in the lower 48. I'll try and grab a picture tomorrow. Harbor freight sent me a return label though I have to carry it on 2 boats, a bus, and make it to FedEx while they are open, wait for a new one to show, and with my work schedule be without it for probably 6 weeks. Snappy text a picture of the carnage to my guy and he'll get a replacement on the way and send it out to me at work, drop off the broken tool when I get home.

We have a couple at work, they are ok though there was one in the scrap bin next to my breaker bar. I'm just going to upgrade and buy snapon used.

Be advised that there also are some heads, L72N I believe, from the 40's that have a 7/8" diameter hole. I had to make a custom handle out of acralloy. If that ratchet head on Ebay seems like a great deal, make sure it has a 13/16" or 15/16" hole diameter

This is what I was going to say. I bought ezred 3/4 drive for my guys and they are far from gentle. All the ratchets are still kicking.
