Snapon 5CF Midget Pliers

Hello All,

Does anybody have any experience with these pliers? The hinge on mine is incredibly tight. It’s several months old and it hasn’t broken in at all. You need to hands to open and close it. Is that normal with these pliers? Thanks!

I have a similar 5" pair like that from the mid 1980s and they're still stiff.

Tip picked up from the internet that worked for me. If they don't become smooth with use. Resist the urge to add oil as it reduces friction and you want friction for the metal to wear smooth. Clean out any oil in the pivot with soap/water. Add a little compound or metal polish. Anything with a little grit in it designed to clean or polish metal and then sit in front of the TV opening and closing the pliers until they feel good. Clean out and oil.

Mr. Lemons, that is a good idea. why didn't I think of that? Now I just need to find something fine enough for the job.
