Does anybody own or know about Snap on GOFER1A & GOFER4A? The first one is a wire installation tool and the other is a pack of 12 velcro type straps in different colors. I figured it would be a easier than mechanics wire for some things, help keep my meter leads together in my box drawer etc. etc. I called SnapOn and all girl could tell me was they discontinued them at the end of 2012. Going from the part #'s makes me think they were from an outside supplier (but I could be totally wrong). Could anybody direct me to who made these for SnapOn? Or if you own either one maybe try and take a look at and see if there are any names or numbers on it besides SnapOn's?

Both seemed like they would be pretty handy to me.

CASEYJONES, I have one that the other 2 guys in the shop have all but worn out. Asked the SO dealer and said he did not know anything about them. I found the part number and gave it to him,he said he odered it and has since replied that the company has not answered him as to when it will be in. I could continue on about my dealer but that is whole different topic.:mad:

I have a roll of baling wire, and a bunch of velcro ties that are like $5 a roll at HD. Does that count? :D

I'm thinking of how exciting it will get when you push that bailing wire thru the firewall and make contact with an unfused hot wire. please make sure to video that please.:pimpflash

Danco, I assume by your post you dont have one anymore to take a look at? I do have the student discount going for me so I have been trying to utilize that as much as possible.

Hdhogman, dont worry its not just your dealer giving you a hard time. The ******* the phone told me the were discontinued at the end of the 2012 so there doesn't seem to be any indication that they will be bringing then back. Can you take a look at yours and see if there is any names or numbers that might lead us to the manufacturer? The one link i posted to GOFER1A shows some sort of logo that looks like something that might be from the company that made it possibly?

I've gotten velcro wraps like that form mcmaster carr or grainger. Also have some that have a plastic loop on them that are nice for air hoses and extension cords.

I have looked it all over and have not found any type of ID markings. I think the $28 price would make it less than $20 if you find who supplied it to SO.
The problem with my dealer far exceeds the feedback I am getting on this one tool.

I'll let you know when I find an unfused, uninsulated hot wire under a dashboard. Or when I need a tool to fish a wire through a firewall instead of just using my hand.

You can pick those velcro straps up just about anywhere - hell, I think even Staples has them.
