Snapon Instinct vs Craftsman Pro

I have decided to buy some Snapon screwdrivers, and since I haven,t been able to chase down a Snapon truck I was wondering are the Soft grips the same or similar to the handles on the new craftsman pro screwdrivers? If they are I think I'll go with the hard handles.If not does anyone have any tips for chasing down a Snapon truck?

I haven't seen the screwdrivers I want on ebay (aside from the fact that no one has answered my original question). But the things I have seen seem to be selling ABOVE retail on ebay. Once you factor in the insane shipping charges that sellers list. (snapon ships for free) It doesn't seem to be any less.

I did'nt know that snap on ships for free. I'm in the market for a set of their Instinct Screw drivers too but could not decide on the handles yet. However I am with the thought that the Hard Handles will be easier to clean.

buy what you can afford
craftsman used to snap the tip off when used as a chisel or prybar
so you would have to waste a lot of gas to go back to the store and stuff

I want the Snapons but I wasn't sure what handle type. I don't like the Craftsman pro soft handle and if the Snapon one is the same I will go with the hard handle. I don't typical use screwdrivers as prybars in my line of work, mostly electronic bench work but i have been know to use a hammer!

Just bought a snap on pry bar set and a line wrench set on ebay both new in sealed packing, including shipping I saved 40% and 46% off list price respectively. Remember snap on on line ships for free but charges state sales tax.

A while back i got a set of brand new (shrink wrapped) striking prybars for about $80 or something on eBay. Which works out to be about a third of what i'd pay here. Bought them on the spot!

Luck of the draw i guess. Some you win, some you don't! (i did on that, it was a Buy It Now!!)

Here's a way to chase down a Snap On truck... go to this website and punch in your zip code:

You will get a Snap On district branch phone number and they will connect you with the dealer in your territory. Then you can see the screwdrivers before you make your decision.

I just did the exact same thing for pretty much the same reason, to compare. I have a Snap-on truck parked for half a day every Thursday about 3 blocks away. Stepped on the truck, got dizzy with desire.

Absolutely! Soon I'll be posting my Snap-on 1/4" drive tool buildup from ebay. Less than 50% off new and like new used. Patience is the key.

I usually just go to the local garage and find out what time and day the truck will arrive. If you can't wait until the regular stop then another alternative is get his cell number and go to where he will be.

The instinct handles are very similar to the Craftsman, or the other way around. They are shaped a little differently and I like the Snap on better but the overall feel is close. If you don't like the Craftsman then I doubt you will like the Snap on.
I really liked the Snap on soft grips much, much more. I purchased a set of Wera (if you don't like soft grips you won't like these) and they have been excellent. I grab for them before I grab for my Snap on.

Amen. I HATE HATE HATE the new Instinct screwdrivers. When I heard the soft grips were going out, between Snap-On and ebay, I bought pretty much every Green soft grip offered. I was wanting to wait for deals, but not when I was faced with getting the Instinct ones. In fact, for a few of them I had to buy shanks and handles separately to get the screwdriver I wanted.
