so, i bought a kr290 yesterday (along with the kr650/655 stack it was hanging on, and a sh*t load of tools, but that is another thread).

the kr290 was hanging on the side of the kr650, and was bolted to it on the bottom. the kr650 had holes there for the end cabinet, and dont look like they were added afterwards.

so, neither of the kr555's i already have feature those holes. is it necessary to use them? it freaking weights a ton all in itself, and i can see where it might be a good idea. the bolts are not just an anti-theft feature, they are accessible from the underside, you dont need to get inside the box to remove them.

i know others with kr555 boxes have these installed, did you drill holes for it, or just forgo the bolts?

yeah, i might just put it back on the kr650, but i can't help asking . . . . .

when i had my multiple boxes set up at work, the were bolted together.

when i left that shop and had to transport them, i unbolted everything.
never got around to bolting them back together. that was 18 years ago.

i dont have any boxes at the shop anymore, (i'm a field mechanic) everything is in my garage. some of my boxes havent been moved in 5 or 6 years.

If you are going to move the box it's a good idea, as if you accidentally twist or lift up on the side box it could be a real bad day.
