Well it's not that new. Maybe a year and a half old. I have it in extra long. I don't know if I'm completely convinced I love it more than Matco. I've had it since last summer. Sure the old style is a wicked pain for knocking into the locked position so it definitely needed to be rethought. But has anyone noticed how much longer the whole head is? It's not exactly less obtrusive.

Unless the old ones are breaking, or over-flexing, I'm not going to seek out the bulkier solution. The new design seems to be focused on reworking the fork/flex head joint as much as the switch. The only problem with the old designs seems to be the locking switch. I wasn't aware the NON-LOCKING flex-heads were having any issues with the old fork/flex joint. I'd be interested to hear what people's reactions were that have been using them for a year or whatever in field conditions.

I have two of them, one in 3/8" long and one of the short version, no problems to report with either one. They are a bit on the thick side, but I have a feeling they were going more for strength with the design than getting them into a tight spot.

It's true. I forgot I don't even use locking flex on standard length except for one 1/4" snapon I have. And that's the one that gives me hell lol.
