Does the rebuild kit for the compact head 3/8 ratchet come with a cover plate? I've read mixed reviews about it, I want to convert my thlf72 into 3/8" I've got a few 1/4" ratchets, and I use 3/8" more.

The kits do not include cover plate, you must buy it separately. About 10 bucks.

That's what I was thinking, but They don't have a "view parts catalog" link for that ratchet, only shows a rebuild on the previous page.

Interesting. My experience is with older model rebuild kits. Didn't know the new ones included the plate.

I ordered two sets 3 weeks ago and both came on a Styrofoam plate and dit NOT include the cover plate. I had to order them separate

I just ordered one from snap on.com and it did not have the cover plate, and it shipped with the styrofoam plate as ProPainter's did.

I think they are trying to stop conversions

Mine did not come with the cover plate. I used a tapered (Christmas tree) carbide burr to bore the hole out to just over .5". The plate was too hard for a drill bit. It works like a champ now.

Snapon man came by today, told him what I wanted to do, he didn't have anything for that ratchet on the truck, but he said he'd get me a kit and plate by next week, said it'd run less than $10 for everything.
