I need some help identifying this toolbox. What is the model number? What does/did it sell for new?

The rounded, painted front corners tell you that that's either a Heritage or Classic box - one of the KRA models. Almost certainly a Heritage (one of the least expensive) boxes, because those are the only ones I've seen with a cabinet in place of a bank of drawers.

The master (KRL) series is tougher, uses thicker steel in most places, and the ends of the box have vertical chromed 'pillars'.

As I said, I believe that's a couple of years old, and not in the current catalog. The most equivalent current thing they make would be this rollaway, which is actually a little larger than the one in the pictures:

Yea, I couldn't find it in the current catalog. I assumed it was their lower end box which is fine with me. What would a good price for this box be assuming it is in nice shape and defect free? I am not sure how the new SnapOn prices correlate with nice used.

Personally, I wouldn't give the guy more than $5-800 for it, even if it's like new.

I doubt it was more than $1,200-$1,700 off the truck.

OK, thanks, that is the info I was looking for. I didn't want the asking price to affect the replies I got so I withheld it. He is asking $600 for the box. Doesn't sound like a steal so I'll let it go. I don't have the money for it anyway.

Look on the center of the back panel. It might be on the top, center, or bottom, but there is a part number stamped into it somewhere. Once you find the number, it will be easy to find it in the catalog if it is still available. This past year, I purchased 3 used Snap On boxes, and I never paid a lot for them. From a low of $15 to a high of $125. I am trying to make sure that I have enough tool storage.......

I assumed he found it on Craigslist or eBay, and only had the picture to go by. Otherwise, I would've asked for a model #, serial #, and date of mfg.

Yea, I see you pick up SO toolbox scores all the time on here. I'm not as lucky. My favorite is the last one you picked up, I think the $125 one. I posted up my best SO toolbox find a while back, an old box from the 50's. You said you had at least one identical to it. I would restore it and use it but it has bent friction slides. I tried to straighten them but it didn't seem to help much. I now want to install ball bearing slides in it. I just realized I hijacked my own thread and am way OT so I'll create a new thread. Reply to it if you have any ideas or suggestions as to where I can find BB slides in the correct width/length.

That is a KRA4109 it could be an A or b model, discontinued last list was $1895.00, if you pull out the bottom drawer past the edge of the box there might be a sticker on the bottom of the box or it's engraved on the back of the box.

It's a KRA4109B and it's out of the 2001 catalog.

It measures 40 wide x 19 13/16 deep x 38 13/16 high.
