Snapon vantage pro vs Modis

Hey guys. I’m looking to upgrade my scope. Currently I have a hantek 1008c and a uscope. I have issues with both and want to upgrade to either the vantage pro or the Modis.

As far as the 2 scopes I have, I’m not very happy with either.

The hantek is pretty bad as far as the software is concerned. It’s constantly crashing and is very crude with what it can do. It also doesn’t help that the laptop I’m using it with isn’t that great either. I also like having a portable scope so this doesn’t get used a lot

The uscope is ok but being single channel is very limiting. It’s also pretty basic and I’d like something that’s of better quality

So I’ve decided on buying a used vantage pro or Modis either on Craigslist or Ebay. Looks like I can get a Modis eems300 for anywhere between $500-900 depending on how updated it is as well as what it comes with.

I generally work on forklifts and heavy equipment so I’m not too concerned with the scanner/updates although I will use it for some side work and personal cars.

Which of these 2 would you guys go for? I’m assuming the Modis has a slightly less capable scope since he Modis has the scanner and 4 Channels and he vantage pro is only 2 channels but both are roughly the same price. Am I correct on that assumption or is the Modis scope just as capable as the vantage pro?

Thanks for any help guys. I appreciate it

I like the screen on the vantage ultra

I wouldn’t buy the old modis. Vantage pro maybe, but the ultra is very nice

The Vantage Pro does a few things that the Modis doesn’t. Graphing ohms maybe. The Vantage Pro is pretty much bulletproof while the Modis has had issues. If you don’t need 4 channels get the Pro. The Vantage Ultra doesn’t do internal amps. That’s a shame.

Yea I don’t really need the scanner. I would like the scanner and would like the 4 channels but if the vantage pro scope is better I would rather go with that.
