Snowblower Replacement Skids

I have a new to me Troy Bilt Storm 8526, bought for $125

Tecumseh 8.5hp
6 forward and 2 reverse speeds
Electric start
Remote chute controls
26" clearing width

Its a monster and will last me for a very longtime

It's in great shape and after a new spark plug and a new carb, it's running fantastic

I want to replace the 10" long metal skids with a polymer skid

I can't find any in this length.......should I just drill a new hole and use the shorter ones or?

Not sure what the missing skids shape needs to be. First thought is cut out whats needed from tips of trashed skis.

Look behind the middle slot. There's the rear factory hole. Somebody already drilled this further back. I'm sure you'll be fine with regular extra long plastic skids.

I replaced my skids with wheels several years ago. Only have to use the machine 5-10 times per year, but I have seen to decrease in performance.

That is an excellent approach!
Nylon or UHMW also readily available and usually not to pricey. Even a "PE" cutting board from the dollar store should suffice in a pinch or forever(ish LOL!). Harry
Edit: PE = Polyethelene cheap, cheap, cheapest!
