There is a chest, and tool box, available near me: KR-555A and KRA-59E, respectively.
Both in great condition.

I have no idea what these things go for in the real world.

What is a fair offer to make for the top and bottom?

Thank you in advance!

Cheers.

Here are some pics.
Also--
One of the brackets for the top box is broken (see photo)
Is this something that can be easily repaired?

Thanks!

The top is older than the bottom roller chest. ***** they bolted that bar thing on it. If you want it offer $200 and see what he says. I would say anything under $500 would be ok.

Is there some place I can go to see the hierarchy of SO chest/box lines, and their features.

It appears there are drastic changes from one end of the spectrum to the other.

Dr Kanaga,
This site (http://www.collectingsnapon.com/index.php?page=Tool Storage/Tool Storage Intro) has some good information on the older snap on boxes. Go to tool storage then drop down...

Me personally I would pay up to $400 if all drawers worked really well. I had the money and really needed a box. If it was in the $200-$300 range I would most definitely purchase it. When ever used boxes approach the >$400 range I always think of the Harborfreight 13 drawer 44" lower box that so many are fond of.

Looking at your local LA craigslist, tool boxes seem to be all over the board. I personally have never found the need or ability to purchase extremely expensive tool boxes.

For example....

I would personally check these out if I was needing a box.

Then there are these!!!!!!

The website doesn't have the catalogs for every year but enough of them to give you the general pattern. That 'sliding' hinge lock was used on later models of KRA59x. I have never seen any list of what years the letter suffix corresponds with what year the box was manufactured--you would think Snap-on would have such a list . The KRA59x was probably made for 30 years .
