I believe the pic posted is of the older ratchet design (screws tighten from the underside of the ratchet, not the top side)

although, I'm not sure what the two parts on the far right are. and the cylindrical piece with the spring in the middle was not separate in my kit

That makes sense because whenever Snap-on has put screws in from the top, the holes have always been counterbored, not countersunk.

Non a model has screws that go through bottom of ratchet. A model has screws that go through top. Only difference.

I just bought a Snap On SL80A (Dual 80) and the screws are on the back of the ratchet head.

S80, you dont see screws on the face of the ratchet.
S80A you see screws on the face of the ratchet, stronger design. Simple as that.

For the longest time I couldn't figure out why people were complaining on their 1/2 drive dual 80 ratchets for the screws backing out.I had a SL80 with zero issues,then one day they came loose,and have twice now.Once more and the driver is going to switch it for the "A" model. I kind of like the clean look of the previous model though...

I'm a round-head ratchet guy, but if I had a dual 80, I'd consider better thread locking compound, based on what I've heard.
