so i applied for SO credit and only got offered 3k today or 5k by the end of the month IF my dealer meets certain requiments(not sure what the requirements are though). I was planning on going after the KRA722/SOLUS ULTRA promo but after not getting approved for the full 6k i decided against trying to scrape up the other 3k. So i asked my dealer to get me the bluepoint microscan3 last week and thought id get it today. he came in and didnt have it because he said he didnt order it yet because it was going on promo this week and wanted me to get it for the promo price. I told him I needed the scanner this weekend and he offered to let me borrow the SO ETHOS for the week to test it out and get my sidejob done this weekend. I plugged it in and drove home and toyed around with it a little bit while driving and man is it way more extensive than i thought it would be. i work on forklifts for a living so i didnt realize how many modules and systems there really are in a modern car. im basically completely sold on at least the ETHOS and im really debating on whether i should just nut up and spring for the SOLUS. the main difference i saw between the solus and ethos was the solus has bidirectional controls and troubleshooter tips which i really like the idea of having. problem is the solus is almost 4k. the ethos is 1500 which i thought was crazy at first but after seeing how indepth it really goes i think its worth it. i really think the ethos is the better deal because i would not have to go through SO credit for the ETHOS like i would for the SOLUS and the ETHOS is already 2500 less.
MY question is am i gonna be beating myself up later on for not spending the extra money for the SOLUS? is having bidirectional controls and the troubleshooter tips really worth 2500+?
