If this idiot thinks his mildly used red screwdrivers are worth $355 plus shipping...

sure, most are in new condition says the seller, and sure, there are a handful of pieces there, I think even a complete set, but jesus christ if someone pays that much.. retarded.

please, no one on here buy those. regardless of the rareness of the color.

Just think of how many Williams black handle screwdrivers you can get for $355. :D

pathetic, but ive thought multiple times about buying the Williams drivers and just flipping the handles over...

I told my SO dealer I would buy anything he had with a black handle... So I went home with a dzus fastener tool, a weird shaped panel removal which I know I'll NEVER use, a hubcap remover, and a couple other 1/4" shank drivers..

still looking for a skew driver. ive seen pics of 1 but never seen one for sale. I admit I would pay a premium for that as I see that as the only tool I cant easily get from either ebay or here.

my dealer says it aint gonna happen

ugh. I cant imagine the reason why they wouldnt bring them back. Even call them 3rd anniversay edition of whatever (just dont etch some nascar bs into the handle...)

guarantee, if they brought them back, they would turn a profit just from direct sales from members of this forum. ****, I personally would buy/replace/add another, of every black hard handle I own or dont own. just for principals sake of the fact I loathe instinct handles. they dont fit right in my hands, they look like the same bs I can procure at BigLots, they have no "weight" to them.. I ordered off the SO website what I thought were going to be black handled screwdriver, albeit with industrial shanks.. I was willing to deal with the shanks altho my shop has a weird climate control problem which rusts everything in site... what showed up??? gray and red instinct handles..!! rubbish I tell you. I traded them in on a FK80 (I think thats it) for no reason.
and after im done buying black handles, I'll start with the other colors, as long as they dont want $355 plus shipping for some red handles ,lol...

He's trolling. He really has nothing to lose but an insertion fee. His price is only a mere $23.66 per red hard handle screwdriver. I am disappointed that he doesn't offer free shipping with purchase though.:wtf:
I wouldn't buy it but, there might be someone out there lusting for the old style red handles and might pony up the money for the set and it only takes one winning bidder. We've all seen people pay as much if not more for similiar auctions. I just wish I had some old style Snap on screwdrivers to sell.

That is the first thing I though of as well. I bought 5 black hard handled Williams brand new for $20. They had never seen a fastener, unlike these examples.

Man, before I came onto this sight, I never knew that people were into collector tools. I thought tools were all about function, not form. I thought my Craftsman screw driver were a uppity purchase. To each his own.

speaking for myself, I agree with function over form... yet on this site, you will quickly see that some members have 20 3/8" ratchets...why? because they can... me? I have 6 (currently) but I digress..

as for screwdrivers..., I already have almost all that I would technically 'need'. so at this point, anything I 'collect' is an addition to what I use daily... When I first bought screwdrivers, they were black handled SDD... Snapons... ive had them for years. I'd rather grab them then some Craftsman piece or *gasp* an Instinct handle.

I'll continue to buy black handled, new condition SO drivers until I can no longer afford them.. assuming they dont get to a starting price of $355 plus shipping.....

Those screwdrivers are a good performer, that is why they are so popular. Easy to clean, provide good torque, and have hard tips. However, some guys are into the colors and condition more than others.

x100. I succumbed to the need for a pink ratcheting SO screwdriver a few weeks back for a price that was way more than it was worth imo. bought it just to buy it.

never spent $355 though.

Glad I never went that far. The pink tools were for my wife... and I bought her some. When she needs tools, though, she always uses the tools in my house box - not her pink tools.

I can't understand why SO thinks it would be so shameful to admit to making the mistake of introducing the Instinct screwdrivers, and then start building the hard handle screwdrivers again.

So thats £225 in british money, a new set cost £90 so he must be sniffing glue to think he'll get what he's asking for them

That is a nutty price. However, if they were pink they would be sold by now! :lol_hitti
