I picked up a porta bandsaw with stand for $100 and kind of getting buyers remorse. Did I do OK? Sorry I am having problems posting pictures, will post later.

Is it Milwaukee brand? If so, and it tracks straight and the table squares up thats a solid deal.

I still use the www.photobucket.com for my hosting, bit outdated but works well.

That is exactly what I have done minutes ago and on previous attempts. But for some reason it works when it feels like working. Example, I was uploading a picture and out of the 3 only 2 uploaded and the third picture failed. Although I did the same procedure throughout the process.

I will try this again. Nope it doesn't work. I keep getting the security token problem message. I have tried refreshing my page before posting because someone said that my computer may have timed out, but this did not work either.

I know all of this. What I need help with is the "SECURITY TOKEN" I figured everthing else out already. Thank you everyone that has posted so far no insult intended, but it is obvious I know how to do it seeing, I have posted pics before.

I also get that security token often. It seems to happen when I try to upload more than 2 pics. or one if they are too big. I haven't figured it out either. I always resize the picture smaller and just upload one picture per post if it does that to me. Good luck.

Price depends on your location and scrounging ability. Many folks consider anything less than new price a deal. Around these parts genuine Milwaukee portabands average $50-75 at auctions/fleas/yard sales with the case, usually with spare blades, sometimes with a stand. Knockoffs go for quite a bit less. I paid $40 for mine bc I NEEDED it and dont consider it a deal. To each their own, enjoy your new tool!

I agree with your statement but around here, there isn't much on Kijiji or craiglist in this price range with stand or without.

Just ignore justanengineer's price comparisons (along with RCStocker) both of them appear to live in a nirvana of ultra cheap second hand tools. No mater what someone gets something for, they seem to be able to get it for 1/2. :dunno:

Keeping in mind almost everything is different depending on locale. I think that was a pretty fair deal, especially with the good stand and not a **** import version. Can one be found cheaper? Maybe. IF you get lucky. I generally do fairly well but never in the price brackets they habitually quote.

I think you did really well seeing that porter-cable was once the top of the line.
I think a new one without the stand is near $300.

This tool is one of those old tools "Made in U.S.A." with very few plastic parts. Yes I know that Porter Cable was a very well respected brand, not so much nowadays. Although I must admit that their bigger routers are still up there.

I would've bought that for a hundred bones for sure. A horizontal bandsaw that can probably do 3 inch round if not more yet has a nice small footprint is definitely worth a C-note to me.

$100 is a good deal on that - the stand alone is worth as much as the saw. Even $175 would be fair for an end-user price for that combo.

Around here, $100 is a good price. Sometimes you can find them for 75 but it's beat to hell, usually it's 150 and up and with out a stand.
