So, I'm reading the instructions and it says it will become a regular drill by moving the chuck. Score! I took it apart and the is no shaft connecting them. So that's what this weird thing does. Install the shaft and DOUBLE Score! It spins great.
I put the battery on my other charger for a couple minutes and it started charging. I'm a little leery of using my charger on a differnt brand though, I'll have to think about it for a while. Anyone need a Milwaukee Saw owners manual?

If you flip flop the right angle drive on the drill, you'll either increase the top speed, or lower it significantly depending on where the final drive ratio lands. Will allow you to use a big ship auger bit and eat thru studs like a kid eating ice cream with a hot spoon. Great score.

Nice score. Even if the Milwaukee had issues, they are easily rebuildable with cheap parts. Definitely a professional tool.

Don't leave that battery on an unattended charger! It could pop, or catch fire, or explode, so do not leave it while it is charging.

First time was just for 4-5 minutes to see if it would take a charge. This weekend I put it on for the whole 1 1/2 hours. It went fine. I was more worried about it taking out my quick charger. Now to see if it loses the charge quickly.

Nice scores! Even in todays economy not everyone is a cheap *ss like me that wouldn't throw out anything worth more than $5. lol Sometimes people just don't care. As pointed out it could been left by an Ex, left behind by the previous owners or a handyman etc., so it probably didn't have any value to however put it on the curb.

If it wasn't mentioned (I got lost in all the "U ****!" comments,) chargers are fairly universal, provided you can match the battery type and voltage requirements. Just make sure to snag a 'smart' charger (one that can determine when a battery is at capacity, and stop charging - pretty much standard these days.)
