I've got a new Snap-On 1/4 ratchet that I'd like to give as a gift.
I'd like to get it professionally engraved with the recipient's name.
Something that would look much nicer than what I could so with an electric engraving pen.

Anyone ever do this?
Do I go to a trophy shop?
I'd imagine the material used in plaques is softer than a chrome ratchet.
Suggestions?

Thanks.

Any shop with a laser etcher should be able to handle it.

A lot of the shopping malls have a store called Things Remembered or something like that.
They do engraving on stuff you buy from them but you can ask about them doing something for you

If you find an awards or trophy shop with a laser, ask if they have any metal marking options. Cermark is the big name behind the material. It leaves a black finish that is very durable without cutting into the tool, but bonding to the surface.

I tend to use it on Stainless and aluminum parts for marking and on some plaque plates.

I did this for the Best Man and Groomsmen and they loved it. I bought good Leathermans and had Things Remembered laser etch them. They did good work!
