Does snap on make pass through sockets ? just wondering.

Matco rebrands a lot of import stuff.:bounce:

Seems to be a taiwanese thing. I have the kobalt set but they're all very similar.:headscrat Look at the ratchet wrench they include and you can probably see who's rebranding what.

For a rare use set, they'll probably all hold up decently. But...you're getting hybrid 12 point sae/metric sockets in some of these sets.:scared:

BLPPTSS3822 is the Blue Point kit, std and mm it goes up to 3/4 and 19mm. I'd just go with the cheap Gearwrench kit Sears has on sale often.

What are you guys using your pass through sockets on? I bought my set when I was doing a front disc brake conversion on my 72 F100 and I cant remember why I bought it. I have never used the set since but have grabbed the pass through ratchet a couple times to turn some 3/4 bolts.

Putting together furniture and assorted ****. Pretty much.

I was going to use it for my exhaust bolts (replacing gasket) but...didn't need it.

Those are not pass-thru type sockets since they are broached to accept 1/4" drive tools.

I do believe they have a different type under the SO-brand that actually is pass-thru. I don't know the part # though.

The set I used was from Grainger [Westward] and they worked very well. I was working on industrial pressure washers that had 12 inch long internal studs with lock nuts. Ken.

According to Snap-On's website description they're pass thru.

The sockets have an 11mm hex outside dimension, with a 1/4" broached pass thru drive socket. The 1/4" internal broached drive allows the sockets to be used with a regular 1/4" ratchet and extensions. The 11mm hex outside, allows the sockets to be turned with a regular 11mm combination wrench, as well as a 11mm Ratcheting wrench. Snap-On also manufactures a ratcheting wrench, model RAT72, that is designed for the sockets. The pass thru bolt dimensions would be limited to 1/4" dimeter though.

The 3/8" Snap-On low profile sockets and ratchet aren't a pass-thru design.
