just got off the phone with matco

new ship date sometime between Jan 13 and Feb 7 so about 16 months if they make this ship date
I'd tell them to mail a check for MSRP, and keep the ratchets. 16 months is so far beyond unreasonable that it hurts. 16 weeks would be unreasonable. 16 DAYS might be acceptable, although inconvenient. But that's me.

I got to ask which model do they owe you? My dealer has had every ratchet on his truck for the last month+, except the 24" flex head 1/2" with orange handle, had green handle ones so I grabbed another one.

Flex head 3/8 comfort and std handle

Im sure drivers have stock they need to sell stuff. They are not to worried about the warranty people. They realize im done as a customer so they done care, more worried about getting new ones

It's still going on. I placed my order for an 88 on 11/11/16. Wasn't told it was on backorder until I saw the slip that came with the prybars that I had ordered at the same time. I called them about two weeks before Christmas and they said they'd be shipping out the ratchets the week before Christmas. I called them again today and they said their orders were coming in slowly and they are still trying to fill all the back orders they have. New ETA = third or fourth week of January. I want the ratchet bad enough that I'll wait for it. When it gets here it gets here. However, as others have said, it's a good thing this isn't the only ratchet I have, otherwise I'd be going elsewhere!

I have started canceling orders from Matco if they are backordered. I have pretty much filled my whole tool box in the last three months, and I've ordered several wrench sets, socket sets, ratchets, pry bars, picks, screwdrivers, nutdrivers, torx sets, you name it. In mid-December I started canceling Matco back orders, and so far I have canceled three orders due to the tools being back ordered.

It came in today! Excited to put it to use.

Mine came in the first week of December. It was ordered September 1, 2015, so that's 15 months.

I'm out of town for the winter, so I had it rerouted to my bil's.

He'll probably loose it before I get back home in late March.

They were open with the problems with Apex, and the fact that they had to develop a new manufacturing source.

I'm ok with all that, as I spent much of my career developing new sources. These things take time, unfortunately.

I got a 3/8 flex under warranty. Seems nicer than what i had before. Its tight,no slop in the flex or ratchet mech. Noticed it has a X stamped mid way handle. odd

Now mac is doing the same thing. I've been waiting on pliers since December. Ordered a 3/8 ratchet, now they're back ordered too.

Can we see some pics? I'm just curious. Maybe that's the trademark of AJ Manufacturing to differentiate the new era.

I also recently received a warranty replacement 1/4" drive locking flex-head (AFR68LF) about two weeks ago and it also has the "X" marking. It was my understanding thatit is a date code and thiswas a new AJ manufactured ratchet.
